EEK!

Hi, I'm having trouble with seeing when loading windows. When I first turn my computer on, everything is good. I see my BIOS screen nice and clear. It loads the black screen that has the Windows logo with the loading bar under it, then when it gets to the loading screen, I just get a bunch of black and white lines and cannot see anything. The last thing I remember doing on the computer before this problem was updating drivers. So naturally, I went into safe mode and rolled back the graphics driver. That didn't work, so I reinstalled the graphics driver that came with my graphics card. still no success. I'm beginning to think that it's a problem with windows, not the drivers or card, since the BIOS screen is fine and I don't run into trouble until Windows loads the welcome screen. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Hi mate, is that an LCD monitor???
I have one LCD monitor on work where I am hooking up computer that I am maintaining and when I start PC, always gets me black and white stripes on various configurations so I think it is cable or monitor problem...
If you can take monitor to friends house and test it on his PC to see if will act the same, do it...
Hope this will help you mate...

Thanks for the tip, I'll try using a different monitor and reply back with the results.

Well that's weird... It works on my CRT monitor. I usually use my TV as the monitor, and that's what isn't working even though it always used to. I guess it's just some kind of weird setting mess up or compatibility issue. Anyways, thanks for the help, maybe I'll try reformatting after a while to get it to work on the TV again. Again, thanks for the help!

OS:

If you are using your television as a monitor the lines that you see are the retrace lines that the television has that are usually blanked out so they are not seen. What ever you are using to accomplish this with the television might have to be re-installed, just the device not the windows OS.
