Hi there,

When i go to open any files within explorer. I get a pop up saying

"Some dangerous viruses detected on your system. Microsoft windows XP files corrupted.... may lead to destruction of important files... click OK to download ...

Yes/ No

Whether you click yes or no - it routes to a browser page https://systemerroronline.com/id/4912933/4/1/

Or sometimes to windows_defender_2009.com - which is another fake.

Ive run avast pre-boot. Spybot & Super-anti spyware - to no avail.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Many Thanks

We recommend that you read this article…"NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help"; follow the instructions very carefully; then, post all the requested logs and information; as instructed, in theHiJackThis Log Help Forum.
(Simply, click on the coloured links to be re-directed.)

Please ensure that you create a new thread in the HiJackThis Log Help Forum; not back here in this one.

When carrying outThe 5 Steps, if you cannot complete any of them for whatever reason, just continue on with the next one until they are all completed.
However,it is extremely important to make mention of the fact that you could not complete any of the steps in your post toThe HJT Help Forum; where an Analyst will assist you with other workarounds.

Once done, please be patient, as the Security Team Analysts are usually very busy; one of them will answer your request as soon as they can.

After your system has been verified as clean, if your are still experiencing those problems come back here and we will assist you further.
