ok here it is
tetonbob told me to post here because of my problem i posted in the general security section. i stated that i have pop ups and my labtop will freeze sometimes at the startup but this is the hijackthis - notepad that poped up for me hope this is wat i need for u guys to help me

Please ensure that you include the header information when posting a HijackThis Log. The header contains important information about your system crtical to our review. When HijackThis opens Notepad with the log, press Ctrl+A to select all, Ctrl+C to copy all, then Ctrl+V to paste all into a thread.
Please post a new HJT log with the header intact. I see you have more than one Anti-Virus program installed, Trend Micro and Norton. While this may seem like greater protection, it can cause problems including slowdowns and system hangs. Choose one to keep and uninstall the other. Any antivirus program must be removed via add/remove program. For any program that doesn't have an add/remove entry, you will have to do this: re-install the program -> reboot -> uninstallWhat sort of popups are you getting? Be specific please, as I see no obvious malware in your log. Is your version of SpySweeper a trial and timed out, or is is paid and active?

If you cannot provide any information to the questions I asked, or provide a complete log, we're wasting our time. None of that would have taken much more time than bumping unnecessarily. A bump is for an unattended thread, which this is not....I've posted what I want you to do, your next reply should have been to provide that information. NOTE: Do NOT run this program if you have XP Professional 64 bit edition. If you're unsure please do not run it! Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows: Click "Options..." Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!" Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. It may ask you to log-off/reboot at the end, if it does please do so. Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Login on your usual account. If you don't already know, you're probably not using XP64. Download & run this tool to find out for sure..... http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs...p_whichcpu.exe And yes, if you have XP64, don't use CleanUp, but still boot to safe mode to run Ewido. Hope that helps.

Ok thanks man, also when I run SpySweeper it will get close to the end then it kind of freezes, but its still going. I know it doesnt make sense but thats wat it does. And when I try to stop it it freezes but i can still open programs and move around and stuff. I dont know wat the problem is but this is the only time it has done this and its when I check Sweep for rootkits and COntents of Compressed folders.
Do you have any idea what this is about? |

When you are running any of these scans, that's all you should be doing. It may be inconvenient, but until we've examined your system, you really should just focus on getting it clean, and running the scans.
Does SpySweeper hang on a particular file? Or does it just seem like it's not doing anything? If there is hard drive activity, it's still working. Let it, the scan can take a long time. If it does hang, pass on that part of the fix, and move on to the next. The idea is to get something to shake loose a bug, or give us some idea of what's giving you the popups.

All Windows Operating Systems have Internet Explorer. It's either on your Start Menu, or the executable is in Program Files\Internet Explorer. HJT sees your version....so try again.
First, however, please do this: You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix. Please download AproposFix from here: http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/aproposfix.exe Save it to your desktop but do NOT run it yet. Then please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following: 1) Restart your computer 2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8. 3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear 4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode. Once in Safe Mode, please double-click aproposfix.exe and unzip it to the desktop. Open the aproposfix folder on your desktop and run RunThis.bat. Follow the prompts. When the tool is finished, please reboot back into normal mode, and post a new HijackThis log, along with the entire contents of the log.txt file in the aproposfix folder. Also, try again to locate your IE, and run Panda. If you just can't find it, run this online scan: Go to Trend Micro Housecall Europe. This online scanner supports most browsers and operating systems. Click on Check My PC now, and follow the prompts. If there is an Auto Clean option given, please select it. Save any results possible, and post them here.

Please do this: Clear the Firefox cache. Tools > Options > Privacy > Cache > Click on Clear. You had a rootkit, AproposFix took it out. It's important to me that you follow my instructions, and not venture off on your own. SpySweeper is acting strange how? Be more specific....although I'm not that concerned with it right now....I think we got the infection. IF you want to still try to run SpySweeper, do this: Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. Restart your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter. Launch & use the diagnostic version of SpySweeper & configure it as followed:
Launch SpySweeper & select Results from the left pane. Do not begin a new scan. Click the 'Session Log' tab & choose Save to File to create a log. Post that in your next reply along with a new HJT log. ## IMPORTANT - do not use your computer as you scan. I still require an online scan done, and some results posted, whether it's using IE (as I still think you should be able to...did you find it?) and Kaspersky, or using Firefox and TrendMicro, as I directed you to last time.

Hi,
no the pop ups seemed to have dropped but yes there are still some and I dont know if you saw it or not but when I did the panda scan 10 spyware was found. Also spysweeper acting strange is the thing we talked about before. But my computer seems to run smoother and all but still a little pop ups so i think theres still something |

OK.....Panda was only cookies...clearing the Firefox cache will remove them.
Let's get some more protection on this system: Download IE-SpyAD - Extract the contents to a new folder From within the folder, double-click install.bat Select Option #2 - Install the new IE-SPYAD list. Then return to the main menu. Select option #4 - Add the old porn sites domain The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one that will restrict known ad sites form serving you unsolicited advertisements. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is the IP of your local computer.
Download SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 Install & update SpywareBlaster with the latest definitions. After you have updated, click the button - enable protection for all unprotected items Run SpySweeper in safe mode, and see what happens. Let me know. We can dig with other tools.
