Welcome back Jmoney3457, thanks for waiting.

Ok, nothing much on the log, it's clean. Are you experiencing any problems? Oh, a question.. Are you using this program? PartyPoker

Well let's try to see what the scanners will find. On to the fix..

==========================================================

Please follow the instructions provided, you may want to print out these instructions and use them as a reference. If you have any questions regarding the fix, please ask us before proceeding.

==========================================================

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Please download Ewido Anti-Malware
  • Install Ewido.
  • When installing, under Additional Options, uncheck:
    • Install background guard
    • Install scan via context menu
  • Launch Ewido.
  • The program will now open the main screen.
  • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on the Start Update button.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  • After it has finished, close Ewido, we will use it later.
  • If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido » Ewido manual updates.
==========================================================

Show Hidden Files and Folders
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Click the Tools menu.
  • Click Folder Options.
  • Select the View tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.
==========================================================

Boot into Safe Mode. Please restart your computer and as soon as it starts to boot, tap F8 repeatedly. A menu should appear, select Safe Mode from the menu and then hit Enter on your keyboard. (this will take a while, so don't worry, just wait)

==========================================================

Run ATF Cleaner
  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

==========================================================

Run Ewido
  • Click on scanner.
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
  • Select Perform action on all infections, then proceed.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report.
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.
  • Close ewido security suite.
==========================================================

Restart your computer to Normal mode and establish a connection to the internet.

==========================================================

Run an online scan at Panda's ActiveScan

Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer at Panda ActiveScan
  • Click on Free use ActiveScan located on the top right hand corner.
  • Click Scan your PC & a 'pop up' window shall appear. (ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it)
  • Click Scan Now.
  • Enter your e-mail address & click Scan Now. (begins downloading 8 MB Panda's ActiveX controls)
Begin the scan by selecting My Computer
  • If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report.
  • Click on see report. Then click Save report.
Please post that log in your next reply along with a new Hijackthis log and the Ewido log.

.
Good Luck,
Jet Ian

Sorry about this again Jmoney3457, I know it's been a while, but I guess it'll be better if we'll take this easy.

I'll get back to you as soon as my teacher give a GO sign.

Thanks.

Good! Nothing shows. Are there any thing that makes you think you have spyware? So that we will know what to do on the next step. Now about the thing Panda found, it may be a leftover of CWS before, well you said CWShredder didn't found any, so don't worry, just delete that file.

Ok, I want you to make another online scan, but this time in Kaspersky to make sure. We'll also remove PartyPoker now.

==========================================================

Boot into Safe Mode. Please restart your computer and as soon as it starts to boot, tap F8 repeatedly. A menu should appear, select Safe Mode from the menu and then hit Enter on your keyboard. (this will take a while, so don't worry, just wait)

==========================================================

Uninstall Programs

Please go to Start » Control Panel » Add/Remove Programs, find these program(s) and then choose Uninstall:
  • PartyPoker
==========================================================

Still in Safe Mode, please delete this folder:
  • C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\
==========================================================

Restart your computer to Normal and then connect to the internet.

==========================================================

Run an online scan at Kaspersky
  • Please go here to run Kaspersky Online Virus Scanner.
  • You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      • Extended
    • Scan Options:
      • Scan Archives
      • Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan, select My Computer.
  • This will scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button, and save it to your Desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.
==========================================================

Restart and post another HJT log with the Kaspersky log.

.
Thanks,
Jet Ian

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore

We need to do this to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)
  • Click Start » Run » ( type: SYSDM.CPL ) » OK
  • Click the System Restore tab.
  • Check - Turn off System Restore.
  • Click Apply.
  • Uncheck - Turn off System Restore.
  • Click OK.

How to Prevent Re-Infection

Please take your time reading on this list, it is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again.
  • Windows Updates (a must!) - It is very important to make sure that both Internet Explorer and Windows are kept current with the latest critical security patches from Microsoft. To do this, open Internet Explorer, then and select Tools » Windows Update, and follow the online instructions from there.
  • Spybot Search & Destroy - Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections.
  • AdAware - Another very powerful tool which searches and kills nasties that infect your system. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy compliment each other very well.
  • SpywareBlaster - Great prevention tool to keep nasties from installing on your system.
  • SpywareGuard - Works as a Spyware "Shield" to protect your computer from getting malware in the first place.
  • IE-SpyAd - puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
  • CleanUP! - Cleans temporary files from IE and Windows, empties the recycle bin and more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders.
  • Firewall (a must!) - It is definitely a must have. Two good free versions are Kerio and ZoneAlarm.
  • Anti-Virus (a must!) - It is also a must have. Two good programs are Avast and AVG, they're both free.
    Note: You must only use 1 (one) AV because if you have 2 AVs, it will conflict with each other and will only make your system slow.
To find out more information about how you got infected in the first place and some great guidelines to follow to prevent future infections you can read this article by Tony Klein.

Ok, you're all clean. I just saw some optional programs that you can uninstall when I saw your Uninstall list.

I see you have P2P software (Ares) installed on your machine. We are not here to pass judgment on file-sharing as a concept. However, we will warn you that engaging in this activity and having this kind of software installed on your machine will always make you more susceptible to re-infections. It may be contributing to your current situation. This page will give you further information.

I also see that you have Viewpoint Media Player. Viewpoint components are installed as a side effect of installing other software, most notably AOL and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). Viewpoint Manager is responsible for managing and updating Viewpoint Media Player’s components. You can disable this using the Viewpoint Manager Control Panel found in the Windows Control Panel menu. By selecting "Disable auto-updating for the Viewpoint Manager" -- the player will no longer attempt to check for updates. Anything that is installed without your consent is suspect. Read what Viewpoint says and make your own decision.

Quote:
To provide a satisfying consumer experience and to operate effectively, the Viewpoint Media Player periodically sends information to servers at Viewpoint. Each installation of the Viewpoint Media Player is identifiable to Viewpoint via a Customer Unique Identifier (CUID), an alphanumeric identifier embedded in the Viewpoint Media Player. The Viewpoint Media Player randomly generates the CUID during installation and uses it to indicate a unique installation of the product. A CUID is never connected to a user's name, email address, or other personal contact information. CUIDs are used for the sole purpose of filtering redundant information. Each of these information exchanges occurs anonymously.
I recommend that you remove the Viewpoint products; however, decide for yourself.

Other than that Jmoney, you are clean, Congratulations.
