Umm, you're not gonna believe it but it's acting fine right now... I turned my computer off not having Norton Firewall and not knowing where the disc was and when I turned it on it seemed fine. Is it okay if I post again here if it starts again soon?

Back again so soon, heh. At first it was moving quite fast. Now, it's still moving faster than it WAS but it's not going as fast as it usually is. Also, when I just tried to download something, what would usually take minutes had an estimated remaining time of 3 hours.

I went to my neighbors house and it worked fine. What's goin' down so far is that when I first turn on my computer it's going its normal speed. Then quickly, after I browse about a few pages it's still faster than it was going when I posted here but going slow and my downloads are going extremely slow.

Please post a new HJT log.

In the meanwhile, you may wanna download & install Port Explorer.
It's a bit complicated but play a round with it. It allows you to see what's eating up your bandwidth

Did you have any luck with Port Explorer? It should have showed what was using your bandwidth

Have you retried the online scans I suggested earlier? Please try any of these vendors

Hey. I'm posting from school right now. Now, it's saying I have a network cabled un-plugged, which is impossible. It was working the other day really, really slow and yesterday I was posting from a friend's labtop. I plug it in again last night and it just doesn't work. It doesn't even tell me limited or no connectivity, it just says there's a network cable unplugged. Do you think I'll have to reformat my harddrive and if so, how?

It's doesn't sound like as if a reformat would sort it out. I believe it's hardware related. Your network card may be failing.

Well, in my computer, the thing that I put the ethernet cable into is connected to the motherboard, if I'm not mistaken (I'll make sure tomorrow) but if I buy a new netowrk card will I just be able to move the ethernet cable to that network card or is the network card different than the port thta my ethernet cable connects to?

Unless your mobo is seriously damaged, the additon of a new network card should pose no problems.
