super slow internet pages not loading or are timing out please help

Ok I just got my virus/spyware situation resolved earlier today but now my internet connection is really sluggish. I took the recommendations given by greynight in the anti-spyware tutorial and downloaded and installed all the things listed there. However now my interent is hardly running. I'm not sure what to do. I have dsl and my interent is running as though it's on a very bad dial up connection at best. This is just terrible.

I'm not sure where I should be posting this. I chose here because I feel these problems are a result of programs I may have downloaded after coming to this part of the forum.

Please help or direct me to the appropriate area.

Download HiJackThis - this program will help determine if there's any malware on your computer.

1. Double-click on the file you just downloaded.

2. Click on the "Unzip" button to install the newer version.

3. It will by default install to the directory - C:\Program Files\HiJackThis\

4. If it gives you an intro screen, just choose - Do a system scan and save a logfile.

5. If you don't get the intro screen, just hit [Scan] and then click on Save log.

6. Post the HiJackThis.log file

Ok here it is but I just went through all of this. I downloaded all of the programs and things in this tutorial(after my system was presumed clean): http://www.greyknight17.com/spyware.htm#prevent
and now my computer is running slow as molasses. Actually there is one thing I didn't download from that site and it was regseeker I believe.

So are all of those anti spyware programs making my internet run this slow? I've disabled spyware guard and spyware blaster. Sometimes in firefox a page will load continuously w/o ever stopping and I notice the little ticker at the bottom is at 300 seconds and counting. The page will look loaded and finished but the browser just never stops loading it.

And whenever I use IE I get this message from spybot search and destroy I never ever got before saying something like: would you like to block A Avenue Inc from downloading to your system because it is potentially harmful. I've never had spybot ask me about stuff like that and it was now happening almost every time I refreshed a page and if I said yes go ahead and block it the page wouldn't load at all so I'd have to keep refreshing. I don't get the message in firefox but I need to be able to use both browsers.

Yeah that's the one that puts a bunch of ad sites to block in your registry right?
If so I did download and install it...

OH wait that was the ie spypad thing which I also downloaded. Yes I did download the hosts file and put it in the proper directory after renaming the old one to host.old or something like that...

Right click here & select "Save as.." to download - DNSManual.bat
Once you have downloaded it, double click DnsManual.bat to run it.

Reboot your machine & tell me if it alleviates the slowness

That is a little script that changes the settings for DNS Client service from starting automaticlaly to manual. The DNS client caches previous DNS requests in memory to supposedly speed this process up, but it also reads the entire HOSTS file into that cache as well which can cause a slowdown. Unless your machine is a laptop OR part of a Domain, this service is unnecessary and can be disabled.
