Welcome to TSF.
You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix. Please download FixWareout from one of these sites: http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/Fixwareout.exe Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install. Make sure 'Run fixit' is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin. Follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer. Your system may take longer than usual to load - this is normal. When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, HijackThis will launch. Please click Scan, and check the following items: O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{7A77CE72-F0D9-47DA-B052-BF1723AFCCCD}: NameServer = 85.255.115.60,85.255.112.150 Click Fix Checked. Close HijackThis and click OK to proceed. At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again. Post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt along with a new HijackThis log.

Well, seeing I have no edit button I will just post another reply to tell my full story.
I don't know how I got these programs on my computer (possibly by email), but I had a warning I had a trojan on my computer. So I unpluged my internet and scanned with Spy Sweeper twice or three times or so. That got a trojan downloader, two more trojans, a keylogger, and several toolbars (5 at least). After a few scans with Spy Sweeper I scanned with Counter Spy twice. That got two more programs, one or maybe both, can't remember, were trojans. When I removed them, Nortan Anti-Virus warned me I had more trojans for some reason (I was disconnected from the internet at this time). Could have been because it detected them being moved in to quarentine? After Counter Spy I scanned once with Nortan Anti-Virus, then the next day I did again. Nortan did not find anything (I deleted all quarentines on all protection programs). One program may have found some NoSpyPC thing, I forgot what it was named, but the finding program was probably Counter Spy. Sorry for the long explaination, and before in my first post I was in a rush to go some where and I would get back untill after New Years. So, is my computer clean now? Thanks, Happy New Years. EDIT - Oh, and I deleted the thing in HijackThis that you told me to. Do I need to post the log after it's deleted? Just in case, I'll do it right now. Please download CleanUp! and install it. Do not run it yet!
Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows:
WARNING - CleanUp! will delete all files and folders contained within Temporary Directories. If you knowingly have items you would like to keep that are stored in these locations; Move Them Now!!! Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Kaspersky WebScanner Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Anti-Virus Web Scanner You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
* Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan

Two items found with kaspersky.
"------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KASPERSKY ON-LINE SCANNER REPORT Monday, January 02, 2006 20:08:45 Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2 (Build 2600) Kaspersky On-line Scanner version: 5.0.67.0 Kaspersky Anti-Virus database last update: 3/01/2006 Kaspersky Anti-Virus database records: 158488 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scan Settings: Scan using the following antivirus database: standard Scan Archives: true Scan Mail Bases: true Scan Target - My Computer: A:\ C:\ D:\ E:\ Scan Statistics: Total number of scanned objects: 64888 Number of viruses found: 2 Number of infected objects: 2 Number of suspicious objects: 0 Duration of the scan process: 3097 sec Infected Object Name - Virus Name C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\66551A20.exe Infected: Backdoor.Win32.Agent.rw C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\665C6E19.exe Infected: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Agent.sy Scan process completed." Since they are in nortan quarantine, I guess I am safe, right? I guess I Nortan detected the viruses and sent it right to the quarentine. I deleted the Nortan quarantine. So, do you, or anybody, think I'm safe now? EDIT - Also, other people use this computer, somebody could have gone to a site that was infected, but as far as I know, I've done nothing that could have given me a virus except opening an email accidently. I am not the administrator, and so far I think everything seems fine. None of my security programs are detecting anything, and everything seems to run actually faster than before I had any problem.
However, even though it seems a little faster, is it normal to have several processes running at over 10k at a time? Last edited by Prometheus870; 01-03-2006 at 12:25 PM. |
