Computer keeps rebooting
This problem started happening after someone tried to install a new version of musicmatch jukebox. When the computer starts up a message appears that says something about a driver like mimboot.exe can not be found or was busted or something. I don't know what that means. I did uninstall musicmatch, but the problem has persisted.
What do I do? My computer keeps on rebooting. I tried to use norton and it rebooted. I try to send error reports to microsoft and it takes me to a page that says this; Windows was temporarily unable to read your hard disk drive. This problem is general in nature and unfortunately we are unable to determine the specific cause of the read error from the error report. In most cases this problem is temporary and can be ignored; however, if the problem is occurring repeatedly we recommend you follow the additional troubleshooting steps in this article. " My computer also seems to take longer to boot up and sometimes freezes to where I have to unplug it to shut it off. I don't know a whole lot about computers, so any help I can get would be appreciated. I also have two certain viruses on my computer that can't be removed. They are 'msblastDAM' and something else. I haven't been able to get them off of my computer and I can't tell if it is a related issue or not, but I have had them for a long time and this is a recent problem. I think it has more to do with the musicmatch. |

I think that I should add that everytime I run my antivirus software my computer reboots. I also tried to run the suggested online McAfee antivirus software and my computer reacted in the same way as it does to the norton; by freezing and then rebooting. Thank you so much to who ever is helping me. It is so much appreciated. Here is my hijack log;

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.
Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab: * Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders. * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option. * Click Yes to confirm and then click OK. Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run the following tools. Download and update the databases on each program before running.
Download Ewido Security Suite
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido When you have finished updating, EXIT Ewido. The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link doesn't work) and install it. *NOTE* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders and does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp! If you have a 64 bit Operating System do NOT run Cleanup and let me know as we will use another utility. Run Cleanup! using the following configuration: 1. Click Options... 2. Set the slider to Standard CleanUp! 3. Uncheck the following:
5. Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. Reboot/logoff when prompted. * CleanUp! will not create any backups!! Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers. Click Start->Run - type SERVICES.MSC & then click on the OK button
Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist: WinTools or WinTools for IE or WinTools Easy Installer Run Ewido with it's updated definitions:(...it's important that all windows must be closed)
** Ewido scan would require at least an hour. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any): O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [lsz] C:\WINDOWS\lsz.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Uninstall_TBPS] C:\WINDOWS\Temp\TBuninst.exe /remove O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TB_setup] C:\DOCUME~1\LUFIAM~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\tb_setup.exe /dcheck O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://www.emachines.com O16 - DPF: {15AD6789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://static.windupdates.com/cab/62...bridge-c10.cab O23 - Service: WinTools for IE service (WinToolsSvc) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Common Files\WinTools\WToolsS.exe Delete the following Files/Folders if they exist: C:\WINDOWS\lsz.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\WinTools Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here. Open HJT and click on Misc Tools. Under System Tools, click on Open hosts file manager. After it loads, click on Open in Notepad. Copy and paste the contents of that Notepad file here. If possible now, please run the following online scan: Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan ** click on "Free use ActiveScan" located on the top right hand corner
*You needn't remain online while it's doing the scan but you have to re-connect after it has finished to see the report. *Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan Please return with results from: Ewido HJT HJT hosts file manager Panda ActiveScan

Not quite yet...you want to install SP2 on a completely clean system, or it may cause trouble.
Was this HJT log taken from Safe Mode? It appears as though it may have been, due to the lack of running processes. All HJT logs for review must be taken in normal mode, please. Please do this: Empty your Recycle Bin. Make sure hidden files and folders are still visible. Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab: * Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders. * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option. * Click Yes to confirm and then click OK. Delete these files if they exist: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CSUninstall.exe C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-3895304184-214099845-2681017343-500\Dc1\WToolsD.cfg If they resist deletion, boot into safe mode and delete them from there. Next, from normal mode, do this: Download Trend Micro™ Anti-Spyware (by clicking the "Scan and Clean your PC" button).
In place of the TrendMicro icon will be a text file called "Antispyware.log", please double-click that log and copy the entire contents and paste them here. Run a new scan with HJT in normal mode, and post the saved scan log here.

O.k. I deleted the c:/windows/system32/csuninstall.exe
I had two copies of the c:/recyclers/s-1-5-21-389...ect. on my computer. I was able to delete one in normal mode, but the other one won't let me delete it in normal mode or in safe mode. This is the message it gives me when I try to delete it; "Cannot delete S-1-5-21-389... It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again." Here are my results from HJT (ran in normal mode) and the antispyware log as well. Thank you.
