Kill rundll32.exe again & then paste from clipboard gaain

Have you rebooted? If not, follow this picture for the method of kiilling rundll32.exe

Have you ran lm.bat yet? If so, then do the "paste from clipboard" part & Killbox should automatically reboot your computer.

If that doesn't happen & that you received "PendingFileRenameOperations" error message, reboot your computer & post a new L2Mfix log from Option #1.

We may need to go with Plan C.

I have ran lm2 and pasted from clipboard, again guard.tmp isnt there the first file in the list is msupdate32.dll... i haven't clicked any buttons on Killbox

That's very good. The infection has been nuetralised. Please go to the l2mfix folder.
Within the subfolder there, regfixes, you should find a file called winlogondefaults.reg.
Double click on that file & answer Yes when it asked to be merged into the Registry.

Run L2Mfix's option #1 again & post the resultant log in your next post.

Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

Empty Recycle Bins
Delete Cookies
Delete Prefetch files
Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Click Start->Run - type SERVICES.MSC & then click on the OK button

Locate the service - Command Service (cmdService)
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog.
- Stop the service by using the Stop button.
- Change the Startup type to Disabled & then click on the OK button
Then start HiJackThis & go to Config>Misc.Tools...> Delete an NT service...
In the popup box that appears, type in cmdService & then click on the OK button

Answer No when prompted to reboot

Click Scan your PC & a 'pop up' window shall appear. *ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it
Click Scan Now
Enter your e-mail address & click Scan Now ...begins downloading 8 MB Panda's ActiveX controls

Begin the scan by selecting My Computer

If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report.
Click on see report. Then click Save report

Post the contents of the report in your next reply along with a new HJT log & the log produced by theL2Mfix tool

*You needn't remain online while it's doing the scan but you have to re-connect after it has finished to see the report.
*Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan

This is for the Spysheriff infection you described in post #1

Please download these additional files/programs. Do not run them unless instructed to do so.
Unless otherwise stated, they should be stored in same directory as the HiJackThis program.

smitRem.exe - extract it to it's own folder.

Ewido Security Suite

Install Ewido Security Suite
When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
- Install background guard
- Install scan via context menu
Double-click the icon on Desktop to launch Ewido

You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files.

On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
Then click on Start Update.

The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido
When you have finished updating, EXIT Ewido.

Next, reboot your computer in SafeMode :

Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Run Ewido with it's updated definitions:(...it's important that all windows must be closed)

Click Scanner
Click Complete System Scan to begin scanning.
Click OK when prompted to clean files

With the first file it prompts to clean, select the option:

"Perform action on all infections"
.Choose clean and click OK.

Once finished, click the Save report button & save the report to your desktop

** Ewido scan would require at least an hour. I suggest that you go grab a cup of coffee & do something else while you wait for it to complete.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Next go to Control Panel click Display>Desktop>Customize Desktop>Website>Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Do another L2Mfix Option #1 scan & post the log.

Sorry about this. I forgot to ask you to delete these in Safe Mode:

Dear sUbs,

would i delete these the same way i did the other files by using killbox, and then delete on reboot? And when in the Safe Mode process would i delete these files?

You can delete it the old fashion way. Use the delete button on your keyboard. :)

Dear sUBs,

I followed all your instructions, in safe mode i deleted those files you suggested by hand, these two files were not there

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\C9YN4D27\AppWrap[1].exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\DORT1FZR\AppWrap[1].exe

When i ran Ewido it also had an option,

'Create encrypted backup in the quarantine (recommended)'

Which was checked and i left it checked.

At the end when i had to go to Control Panel there was no option for website, but there was a tab called web however on this there was no security info button to check.

Please downlaod the file I've attached to this post - L2Mreg.zip

From within it, doubleclick on l2mreg.reg & allow it to merge into the Registry.

Delete this file - C:\WINDOWS\system32\d4j02e1mgh.dll (it's bad)

Tell me how your machine is behaving. It should be trouble free by now. :))

Dear sUBs,

The system seems to be functioning fine. I had turned off my system restore, should i turn it back on? Also the file you asked me to delete is not there.

If so, then do the "paste from clipboard" part & Killbox should automatically reboot your computer. If that doesn't happen & that you received "PendingFileRenameOperations" error message, reboot your computer & post a new L2Mfix log from Option #1. Double click on that file & answer Yes when it asked to be merged into the Registry. Do not run them unless instructed to do so. Unless otherwise stated, they should be stored in same directory as the HiJackThis program. smitRem.exe - extract it to it's own folder. Ewido Security Suite Install Ewido Security Suite When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck.. Install background guard Install scan via context menu Double-click the icon on Desktop to launch Ewido You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files. On the left hand side of the main screen click update. Then click on Start Update. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
