Trojan.Vundo/Winfixer
Hi there- I have this dreaded Trojan.Vundo virus that a few other people also seem unable to get rid of. Norton keeps giving me a popup that it says it can't clean or quaratine. Here is the file location of that:
Virus name: Trojan.Vundo File: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\khfed.dll I had been getting popups for Winfixer, but those seem to have subsided after running the Ad-Aware and Spybot. One last thing though, and this could be associated with the virus. Recently when scrolling my computer is very jumpy. It seems to freeze every 5 seconds and then start right back up. Ok- without further ado. Here is the Hijackthis log. Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 11:19:05 AM, on 11/20/2005 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\NavNT\defwatch.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\Program Files\NavNT\rtvscan.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvsvc32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\BCMSMMSG.exe C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin\jusched.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\WLTRYSVC.EXE C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPLpr.exe C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswctrl.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\Media Experience\PCMService.exe C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\DVDLauncher.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\AccessDirect\dadapp.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Dell\EUSW\Support.exe C:\Program Files\NavNT\vptray.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe C:\Program Files\BroadJump\Client Foundation\CFD.exe C:\Program Files\Visual Networks\Visual IP InSight\SBC\IPClient.exe C:\Program Files\Visual Networks\Visual IP InSight\SBC\IPMon32.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\Quickset.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\bcmwltry.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe C:\PROGRA~1\CYBERA~1\pcs.exe c:\Program Files\Dell\Support\Alert\bin\NotifyAlert.exe C:\PROGRA~1\CYBERA~1\casvc.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscntfy.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\wbem\wmiapsrv.exe C:\HJT.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\PROGRA~1\CYBERA~1\pcshelp.exe R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell.com R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.yahoo.com/ R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell.com R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://www.dell.com/ R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = local., O2 - BHO: AcroIEHlprObj Class - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll O2 - BHO: (no name) - {53707962-6F74-2D53-2644-206D7942484F} - C:\PROGRA~1\SPYBOT~1\SDHelper.dll O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file) O2 - BHO: DriveLetterAccess - {5CA3D70E-1895-11CF-8E15-001234567890} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswshx.dll O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {FC148228-87E1-4D00-AC06-58DCAA52A4D1} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\khfed.dll O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file) O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvCplDaemon] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nwiz] nwiz.exe /installquiet O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BCMSMMSG] BCMSMMSG.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin\jusched.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SynTPLpr] C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPLpr.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SynTPEnh] C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dla] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswctrl.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdateManager] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic\Update Manager\sgtray.exe" /r O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PCMService] "C:\Program Files\Dell\Media Experience\PCMService.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DVDLauncher] "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\DVDLauncher.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DadApp] C:\Program Files\Dell\AccessDirect\dadapp.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DwlClient] c:\Program Files\Common Files\Dell\EUSW\Support.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vptray] C:\Program Files\NavNT\vptray.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BJCFD] C:\Program Files\BroadJump\Client Foundation\CFD.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IPInSightLAN 01] "C:\Program Files\Visual Networks\Visual IP InSight\SBC\IPClient.exe" -l O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IPInSightMonitor 01] "C:\Program Files\Visual Networks\Visual IP InSight\SBC\IPMon32.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Dell QuickSet] C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\Quickset.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CyberArmorLoader] pcsldr.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yahoo! Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows: Click "Options..." Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!" Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO. Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

Thank you very much- my computer seems to be running much faster already, and no more jumpiness when scrolling or with video.

SpywareBlaster has that CLSID in it's database as an Adult content dialer. CastleCops has it in their database as a Win32.dialer.q While it's possible for that to be wrong, it's not likely. The second one Panda found is the same CLSID. Please remove it.
