panda detects gator because of iespy2/hosts?

2 of my 3 cpus are detecting gator in windows registry and im almost sure its because of iespy2 or hosts. im not gonna remove my protection but was wondering if ne1 has this small issue?

Post the log. Panda has been known to displays false positives depending were in the registry the entry is located.

i thought the secret to getting around it was putting on xp sp2 first and then putting on the iespy2 and hosts. i had formatted my hd a couple days ago and tried that method but still no luck. i dunno why its not detected on my 3rd cpu because theyre all the same.

i reformatted 1 of my cpus and have come to 2 ideas that cause this. Either, its the fact that i put on iespy2/hosts b4 windows sp2 OR it could be a my download program it doesnt like that i installed after sp2.
on the newly reformatted cpu, gator didnt come up again. what i did was hold off on hosts/iespy2 until after sp2 installation and put on my download program before sp2 installation. ima make a cpu image b4 i scan again!!

unfortunately, it seems this one cpu will still detect that. i dont want to reformat this as a couple others use this one now. im too scared to delete those entries above because i know theyre needed because theyre on my other 2 cpus. Ex. one is probably for the download manager. like 4 months ago i had found this spyware scanner online i thought was good..detect entries in you mentioned above to delete as spyware and i deleted them but then my system was messed up.

i did end up trying to fix those entries(even in safe mode) in HJT BUT its like they never deleted after the next scan in HJT. i d/l the free trial of truprevent 2006(by panda) and after updating it....it deleted the gator entry it found which was in hkey_users\.default\software\microsoft system certificates\trustedpublisher\CTLS. i have no idea how it got there but THX for your help!!

yes it is. i think it was my logware s/w(calculate distances,etc.) from this dumb business class i had to take that put it on my cpu. omg, soo very close to graduation!!!!
