WORM W32.HLLW.Gaobot.gen (Reason3CRK.exe) Help!!

I have recently tried out a music program called Reason and it gave me a worm that my Norton Anti Virus will not get rid of. I have tried to do it manually as well is did not work either. Any one have a clue? I sure don't.

hi victoria,

click on the spybot and adware se links on my sig and download the programs. install them, update both programs, and then run them both and see if spybot and adware se get rid of the mess.

i also recommend trying another anti-virus program, a better one than norton such as trend-micro. here is the link to the free online scan:

Download HiJackThis - this program will help us determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer.

Double-click on the file you just downloaded.
Click on the "Unzip" button to install the newer version.
It will by default install to the directory - C:\Program Files\HiJackThis\
If it gives you an intro screen, just choose - Do a system scan and save a logfile.
If you don't get the intro screen, just hit [Scan] and then click on Save log.
Post the HiJackThis.log file here.

Your log appears to be clean but let's do an online scan & see what it can uncover.

Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan

Click Scan your PC & a 'pop up' window shall appear. *ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it
Click Scan Now
Enter your e-mail address & click Scan Now ...begins downloading 8 MB Panda's ActiveX controls

Begin the scan by selecting My Computer

If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report.
Click on see report. Then click Save report

Post the contents of the report in your next reply along with a new HJT log

*You needn't remain online while it's doing the scan but you have to re-connect after it has finished to see the report.
*Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan

Did the scan and could figure out how to save but said I had no malware. I also did a scan with Ewido and Norton and all come clean. Thank you guys a hole bunch you where great.

Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan Click Scan your PC & a 'pop up' window shall appear. ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it Click Scan Now* Enter your e-mail address & click Scan Now ...begins downloading 8 MB Panda's ActiveX controls Begin the scan by selecting My Computer If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report. Click on see report. Then click Save report Post the contents of the report in your next reply along with a new HJT log You needn't remain online while it's doing the scan but you have to re-connect after it has finished to see the report. Did the scan and could figure out how to save but said I had no malware. I also did a scan with Ewido and Norton and all come clean. Thank you guys a hole bunch you where great.
