Hello karen27 and welcome to TSF,
Please print out or copy this page to Notepad since you will not have any of browsers open while you are fixing this. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. Again, you should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link doesn't work) and install it. Do not run it yet. Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers. Go to Start->Run and type in services.msc and hit OK. Then look for netinfo and double click on it. Click on the Stop button and under Startup type, choose Disabled. Open HijackThis>Config>Delete an NT Service Copy/Paste the following into the box and click OK: netinfo Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any): O23 - Service: netinfo - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\netinfo.exe Delete the following file if it still exists: C:\WINDOWS\netinfo.exe Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows: *Click "Options..." *Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!" *Put a check next to the following: -Empty Recycle Bins -Temporary Internet Files -Delete Cookies -Delete Prefetch files -[X]Scan local drives for temporary files (Please uncheck this option) -Cleanup! All Users Click OK Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. Reboot/logoff when prompted. From Normal Mode: Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan - requires Internet Explorer

Hi and Welcome to TSF
Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run the following tools. Download and update the databases on each program before running. Also make sure you are using the the latest version (1.99.1) of HijackThis and it's installed in it's own folder on the root drive. (C:\HJT) Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible. Please make sure system restore is enabled by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn OFF System Restore and make sure it’s NOT checked. We want system restore ON and monitoring your current hard drive. Once your clean we will turn this off and then back on to remove the infection from the restore folder and create a clean restore point. Download KillBox http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/file...re/KillBox.zip Download, install, and update Ewido Security Suite
After the updates are installed, exit Ewido Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Run Ewido:
Run KILL box. Paste the following locations into KILL BOX one at a time. Checkmark the box that says "Delete on Reboot" and checkmark the box "Unregister DLL" (If available) Click the RED X and it will ask you to confirm the file for deletion…say YES and when the next box opens prompting you to reboot now...click NO...and proceed with the next file. Once you get to the last one click YES and it will reboot. C:\WINDOWS\update-sp2.html C:\WINDOWS\netinfo.exe C:\WINDOWS\symantec.css C:\WINDOWS\system32\i C:\WINDOWS\system32\orans.sys Once you reboot.... Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows: *Click "Options..." *Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!" *Put a check next to the following:
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. Reboot/logoff when prompted. Then run another Panda scan and post it's log along with that Ewido log. *Note* MicroSoft AntiSpyware Program: Because of recent changes in the way this program now defines and detects spyware/adware it is no longer recommend as a spyware removal tool. Microsoft has downgraded several adware/spyware programs that it used to detect and remove and now lists them simply as “Ignore” These are some of the adware/spyware programs that this program will NOT prompt you to remove. Claria, 180Solutions, WhenU, New.net, most WhenU apps, eZula,TopText, Gain/Gator, and Webhancer. These are all known adware/spyware programs and hijackers. Basically this product can no longer be trusted!! I recommend you remove it. You will be given advice on replacement products once this fix is complete.

Well done. Your logs are clean. Any more issues? If not you should be good to go. We still have a few items to address.
All Panda reported was orphaned registry entries. These can be cleaned using a registry cleaner such as CCleaner or Registry Mechanic. Reset hidden/system files and folders
Create a new System Restore point
Enable Windows Auto Update
Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programs:
If you do not have a firewall, here are 3 free ones available for personal use: In light of your recent troubles, I'm sure you'll like to avoid any future infections. Please take a look at these well written articles Please respond to this thread one more time so we can mark this thread as resolved.
