My scary looking log file!!! - I used HJT Analyzer program
Thanks in advance for your help. I am getting tons of pop-ups despite running Ad-aware, Spybot, McAfee, etc. Now I have lost McAfee virus program with a warning saying some components of the program are missing, reload.
Also some sites seem slow to load and by clicking on go or on the link again, the page loads. I also will see a box pop up many times for a milli-second and then disappear with an address in the bottom left of IE. It happens so fast I cant tell what it is. Anyway, all this has just started happening on my 1 month old computer!!! I have really learned a lesson about not downloading anything suspicious. Thanks again. ==================================================================== Log was analyzed using KRC HijackThis Analyzer - Updated on 6/3/05 Get updates at http://www.greyknight17.com/download.htm#programs ***Security Programs Detected*** C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee.com\PERSON~1\MPFSERVICE.exe C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee.com\PERSON~1\MpfAgent.exe C:\Program Files\SpywareGuard\sgmain.exe C:\Program Files\SpywareGuard\sgbhp.exe O2 - Hi and Welcome to TSF!
Please subscribe to this thread to be notified of fixes as soon as they are posted by our Team. To do this, please click the "Thread Tools" button located in the original thread line and selecting "Subscribe to this Thread". In the meanwhile, I suggest that you stop using Interent Explorer until we've fully disinfected your machine. Please download & use an alternative browser like Firefox. It's better to print out the next instructions or save them in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then. It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I can't find enough information for this file/program -> C:\Program Files\CMAPP\Client\cmappclient.exe Right click on that file and go to Properties. Then go to the Version tab and see what information you can get from there (Company, Description, etc.) and post it here. If you do not know what it is, please visit this website - http://virusscan.jotti.org/ Submit the file - C:\Program Files\CMAPP\Client\cmappclient.exe for a comprehensive scan Then post the results back here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please download these additional files/programs :- (Do not run them unless instructed to do so) Unplug your computer from the Internet when you have finished downloading CleanUp! - Install KillBox v2.0.0.175 - Save to Desktop. Ewido Security Suite - Install & Update it's database but do not run it yet. Nailfix - Unzip to the desktop FindIt's.zip - Unzip to a new folder on Desktop ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Uninstall the following programs, if present, using Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs :
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Copy to clipboard, all the items below by highlighting them & pressing [CTRL]+[C] on your keyboard. C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\SrchAsDe\1.bin\deSrcAs.dllStart KillBox
* If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reboot to SafeMode
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Remove a Malware Service
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Run Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Run a scan with HiJackThis & select(tick) the following & click [Fix checked] : R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://bfc.myway.com/search/de_srchlft.html R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {4D25F926-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\SrchAsDe\1.bin\deSrcAs.dll F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe O2 - BHO: AuroraHandlerObj Class - {4AA870AC-8427-42a4-B92E-ECD956197489} - C:\WINDOWS\AuroraHandler.dll (file missing) O2 - BHO: RichEditor Class - {F79A2C4B-8776-4ED7-8B2F-4786A4A3500A} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\richedtr.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Sysnet] C:\DOCUME~1\Dudley\LOCALS~1\Temp\sysnet.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [bqqkdll] C:\WINDOWS\bqqkdll.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [bqqkenc] C:\WINDOWS\bqqkenc.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [amveaeu] c:\windows\system32\twegzu.exe r O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe (file missing) O23 - Service: Windows VisFx Components - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\xgofsvc.exe ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Enable the viewing of Hidden files
Here are my results. Thanks for helping me.
In regards to cmappclient.exe, I am not sure what it is.
There is no version tab under properties and no description in the summary. Here is virusscan.jotti info: Service Service load: 0% 100% File: Uninstall.exe Status: OK MD5 acd1f5542044ca37de9fe08c4630ea58 Packers detected: - Scanner results AntiVir Found nothing ArcaVir Found nothing Avast Found nothing AVG Antivirus Found nothing BitDefender Found nothing ClamAV Found nothing Dr.Web Found nothing F-Prot Antivirus Found nothing Fortinet Found nothing Kaspersky Anti-Virus Found nothing NOD32 Found nothing Norman Virus Control Found nothing UNA Found nothing VBA32 Found nothing i.e. not sure if you can make anything out of it, but found nothing and given the OK symbol. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for problems encountered: Killbox: Not all of the lines in red were able to be copied and pasted into the Killbox. I think only about 4 made it. The others would not copy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Malware: services.msc was not able to be run. I think it said it was missing? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- With the 1st HJT scan: Not all of the listed items in red were found in the scan. All of the ones that were found, I of course deleted. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally, here are the logs: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 11:29:42 PM, on 7/13/2005 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_02\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Application Accelerator\iaanotif.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Modem Event Monitor\IntelMEM.exe C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy2ZS\Surround Mixer\CTSysVol.exe C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy2ZS\DVDAudio\CTDVDDET.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\CTHELPER.EXE C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\DVDLauncher.exe C:\Program Files\Musicmatch\Musicmatch Jukebox\mm_tray.exe C:\Program Files\Musicmatch\Musicmatch Jukebox\mmtask.exe C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\RealPlay.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswctrl.exe C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\cli.exe C:\Program Files\HP\HP Software Update\HPWuSchd2.exe C:\Program Files\HP\hpcoretech\hpcmpmgr.exe C:\Program Files\Saitek\Software\Profiler.exe C:\Program Files\Saitek\Software\SaiSmart.exe C:\Program Files\Dell Support\DSAgnt.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\WCESCOMM.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\CTsvcCDA.EXE C:\Program Files\ewido\security suite\ewidoctrl.exe C:\Program Files\ewido\security suite\ewidoguard.exe C:\Program Files\CMAPP\Client\cmappclient.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Application Accelerator\iaantmon.exe C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\CLI.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exe C:\Program Files\SpywareGuard\sgmain.exe C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqgalry.exe C:\Program Files\SpywareGuard\sgbhp.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\HPZipm12.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscntfy.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\NOTEPAD.EXE C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe R1 -
