svvchost????

Hello all,
It seems someone is using my PC to send
out spam.
It all seems to be related to svvchost......my antivirus etc
do not pick it up.

Here is my HJT log. I would really
appreciate if someone could go over it for me.

Thankyou,
Michael...

Thankyou

Thanks for your quick response.

I have one query before I do all that you mentioned.

InstantBuzz is a program that I am using....is it really
necessary to delete it? Is it causing these problems?

Thanks for replying to me.

I look forward to your reply.

Mike

If you are actually using it, them you may keep it yes, no it is not the root of your problems, it has just been labeled as an ad-ware product in some of my resources. Keeping this should do no harm.

feel free to ignore any removal instructions referring to that program (they should be obvious)

and Goodluck with the rest!

Windows Updates
I Highly reccomend making the upgrades to Windows XP Service Pack 1 & 2 Since you're junkware free, the time to get it is NOW. These Service Packs are MAJOR upgrades for XP. They both are chalk full of security patches and such, as well Service Pack 2 comes with a Free Popup Blocker!!!!!

Preventative Measures

This is a good time to set up protection against further attacks. Read How Did I Get Infected In The First Place?.

How is she running now? Any further problems? If not, Good work, and Happy Computing!

Please reply to this thread once more and acknowledge that everything is running well, that way we know its alright to close the thread

Edit: Dont know if you saw that, but i just realized you have a firewall etc. so I edited that out! -if you didnt see that. Dont worry about it!
