Question pc cillin' + spy sheriff issue?
Greetings all!

First time post...

Just let me say thanks, big time. I have been reading through numerous forums trying to fix the all too common spysheriff problem
courtesy of POADB and greyknight17 solutions for other members. I now have the following security measures on my PC

using firefox as sole browser app
ad-aware se
spybot s&d
ewido
cleanup!
spywareguard
spywareblaster
zone alarm firewall
pc-cillin

I think my problems are all pretty much solved, I could hardly believe how much was removed on my machine...

However...

The problem occurs when the computer exits the screen saver. PC-cillin claims that it has detected a virus,
spyware application or some other internet threat and denies access to the offender.

It says the Infect file is C:\System Volume Information\_restore {4C64E8AF-F2CF-431D-8183-D12CF3F8050F}\RP2\A0000153.exe

Virus name: ADW_HYPLINKER.A

Further, when I run spybot, ad-aware, or ewido, sometimes pc-cillin pops up and says it found something of the similar above.

I just ran an adaware, spybot, and ewido scan and nothing is found.

Your log is clean.

Your antivirus is merely detecting viruses that's resides in System Restore's cache. You may clear the cache by doing so...

Create a new System Restore point
  • click Start >> Run - type SYSDM.CPL & press Enter
  • select the System Restore Tab
  • tick on the checkbox - "Turn off System Restore on all drives"
  • click Apply
  • then untick the same checkbox & click OK
