Greetings, and welcome to TSF!

The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes.

Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Also go here to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

Download, unzip to your desktop CWShredder and run it, then:

1. Click "Check For Update"

(If an update isn't available, skip to step #4.)

2. Click "Click here to Download the upate".
3. When the new version has been downloaded, click "Save".
4. Click "Fix ->"

===============

Run HiJackThis then:

1. Click "Config..."
2. Click "Misc Tools"
3. Click "Open Process manager"

-

Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following:

C:\documents and settings\sagar\local settings\temp\LMp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\2qdsrch1.exe
C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\REVTdgxuC.exe
C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\x6bz5a.exe
C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\Mz8pHTEjf.exe
C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\PUkMVP0vv.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\2jdsrch2.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\d?xplore.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\SAGAR\Application Data\othb.exe

Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.

===============

Now, let's open a command prompt and unregister the dll(s) we're going to remove, by entering the following:

regsvr32 /u taQkmd9.dll
regsvr32 /u rwer.dll

It's ok, if these aren't found or 'error' out. If you want, just copy and paste the individual lines to the command prompt to save on the typing.

===============

Before we begin, let's move HiJackThis to it's own folder; like c:\HJT. When we're done 'cleaning' off your system, we're going to 'flush' the temporary folders which, with HiJackThis in it's current location, we'll lose both the program and the backups it creates. These backups are important in case we need to restore any 'fixed' entry(s) later.

Also move the "Backups" folder, for HiJackThis, if present.

===============

Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

When your done, rescan your system and make sure the following isn't present:

N3 - Netscape ... 5CSBWeb_01.src (or) 5CSBWeb_02.src

If it is, then fix that entry again; sometimes it'll take more than one pass. The actual entry is ok, and won't be deleted, it's the java wrapper marked in red that needs to be removed.

===============

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

files...

C:\documents and settings\sagar\local settings\temp\LMp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\2qdsrch1.exe
C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\REVTdgxuC.exe
C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\x6bz5a.exe
C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\Mz8pHTEjf.exe
C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\PUkMVP0vv.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\2jdsrch2.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\SAGAR\Application Data\othb.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\SAGAR\Local Settings\Temp\taQkmd9.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rwer.dll
C:\WINDOWS\an455f9z.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\SHYAM\LOCALS~1\Temp\app1F.tmp

-

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them from "Safe Mode".

===============

Post back a new log, and let me know how everything goes.

I hope the ads345 redirector has cleared away and the annoying popups.
And also, I would like to know if u recommend me keeping the software u told me to download (CleanUp and AdAware) and deleting Microsoft AntiSpyware or Spybot from my computer?
And how many regular scans would u recommend me to perform?

Again thx a lot for your help...really appreciate it.

5GB worth of JUNK???? Thats extreme!

BUT!.. we've more work to do.....

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Download LSPFix http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/LSPFix.exe and run it. Click on newdotnet3_88.dll on the left window and click on the arrow pointing to the right. Click Finish and follow the prompts.

Go to Start->Run and type in services.msc and hit OK. Then look for Content Monitoring Tool (msCMTSrvc) and double click on it. Click on the Stop button and under Startup type, choose Disabled.

The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Do not run it yet.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers.

Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:

OptimumOnline - I've read the Privacy Policy concerning Cookies and Tracking Devices. I recommend you read it also, and decide on if you want to keep this toolbar. I recommend you remove it.

Spykiller - its rogueware (or known to be rogueware in the past) and we highly recommend that you uninstall it. Rogue/Suspect means that these products are of unknown, questionable, or dubious value as anti-spyware protection.

BestPopUpKiller - Popup killer of dubious repute by SwankSoft.com.

EbatesMoeMoneyMaker
NewDotNet

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\system32\Searchx.htm
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.optonline.net/Home

O23 - Service: Content Monitoring Tool (msCMTSrvc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\msCMTSrvc.exe

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Searchx.htm
C:\Program Files\OptimumOnline\
C:\WINDOWS\System32\secidctl.exe
C:\Program Files\SpyKiller\
C:\Program Files\BestPopUpKiller\
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\
C:\Program Files\EbatesMoeMoneyMaker\
c:\program files\newdotnet\
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msCMTSrvc.exe

Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes.

Reboot into Normal Mode and run new HijackThis scan. If there were some entries that didn't show up in Safe Mode, you may check and fix those that appear now in normal mode (if you do that, make sure to run a new scan again). Save the log file and run KRC HijackThis Analyzer in the same folder to get the result.txt log. Just post the contents of the result.txt file in the forum.

Download LSPFix http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/LSPFix.exe and run it. Click on newdotnet3_88.dll on the left window and click on the arrow pointing to the right. Click Finish and follow the prompts.

Uninstall the following Program from Add/Remove:

NewDotNet

And fix the following entry in HJT:

O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\program files\newdotnet\newdotnet3_88.dll' missing

Then navigate to the following folder and delete it.

c:\program files\newdotnet\

Reboot the computer and then return to Normal Mode. Run a HJT scan and analyze it. Post back with results. Also, tell us how things are now.

I found newdotnet3_88.dll and brought it to the right side and hit finish. However i also found newdotnet6_88.dll on the left side. Should i remove that also?

I couldnt find NewDotNet in the Add/Remove programs.

I ran the HJT scan but couldnt find
O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\program files\newdotnet\newdotnet3_88.dll' missing

But i could find
O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\program files\newdotnet\newdotnet6_88.dll' missing.
Should i fix this?

And when i tried to find "c:\program files\newdotnet\" it said Windows cannot find the file.

Things are working much faster and better than before, but i still get these adds from oniadserve. Is there anything we can do about it?

My System

Yes, fix that also in LSPFix. You should not see the O10 entry in HijackThis once you fix it in LSPFix, so that's normal.

So fix that up in LSPFix and make sure this folder is gone by now:

c:\program files\newdotnet\

Restart and give us a new HijackThis log.

My System

No problem. We're glad we could help.

You may check and fix this minor entry in HijackThis also:

O16 - DPF: {F5820AD3-9B20-423E-B2AA-7AF2B4055746} (CRegistryDownload Class) - http://www.paltalk.com/prod/RegDload.CAB

No need for a new log.

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer and uncheck that same box to enable system restore.

Your log is clean.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial http://www.greyknight17.com/spyware.htm#prevent and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
