Greetings, and welcome to TSF!
The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes. Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Also go here to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds. Download, unzip to your desktop CWShredder and run it, then: 1. Click "Check For Update" (If an update isn't available, skip to step #4.) 2. Click "Click here to Download the upate". 3. When the new version has been downloaded, click "Save". 4. Click "Fix ->" =============== Run HiJackThis then: 1. Click "Config..." 2. Click "Misc Tools" 3. Click "Open Process manager" - Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following: C:\documents and settings\sagar\local settings\temp\LMp.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\2qdsrch1.exe C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\REVTdgxuC.exe C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\x6bz5a.exe C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\Mz8pHTEjf.exe C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\PUkMVP0vv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\2jdsrch2.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\d?xplore.exe C:\Documents and Settings\SAGAR\Application Data\othb.exe Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain. =============== Now, let's open a command prompt and unregister the dll(s) we're going to remove, by entering the following: regsvr32 /u taQkmd9.dll regsvr32 /u rwer.dll It's ok, if these aren't found or 'error' out. If you want, just copy and paste the individual lines to the command prompt to save on the typing. =============== Before we begin, let's move HiJackThis to it's own folder; like c:\HJT. When we're done 'cleaning' off your system, we're going to 'flush' the temporary folders which, with HiJackThis in it's current location, we'll lose both the program and the backups it creates. These backups are important in case we need to restore any 'fixed' entry(s) later. Also move the "Backups" folder, for HiJackThis, if present. =============== Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present: R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = about:blank N3 - Netscape 7: user_pref("browser.search.defaultengine", "engine://C%3A%5CProgram%20Files%5CNetscape%5CNetscape%206%5 Csearchplugins%5CSBWeb_01.src"); (C:\Documents and Settings\SAGAR\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\e79s20x5.slt\prefs.j s) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4FAA4628-B113-02EA-8A52-64550DF12A1B} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\eynhu.dll (file missing) O2 - BHO: Search Help - {E8EAEB34-F7B5-4C55-87FF-720FAF53D841} - C:\Documents and Settings\SAGAR\Local Settings\Temp\taQkmd9.dll O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E9203F32-D6FA-8E07-843E-814DF0AE73BB} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\rwer.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [an455f9z.exe] C:\WINDOWS\an455f9z.exe /dk O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LMp] C:\documents and settings\sagar\local settings\temp\LMp.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [5d1b953b8067] C:\WINDOWS\System32\2qdsrch1.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Upsfc] C:\DOCUME~1\SHYAM\LOCALS~1\Temp\app1F.tmp O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LMp.exe] C:\documents and settings\sagar\local settings\temp\LMp.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Mz8pHTEjf] C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\Mz8pHTEjf.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [REVTdgxuC] C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\REVTdgxuC.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [x6bz5a] C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\x6bz5a.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PUkMVP0vv] C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\PUkMVP0vv.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Mz8pHTEjf.exe] C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\Mz8pHTEjf.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [REVTdgxuC.exe] C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\REVTdgxuC.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [x6bz5a.exe] C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\x6bz5a.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PUkMVP0vv.exe] C:\documents and settings\ishwin\local settings\temp\PUkMVP0vv.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [beb797a8c493] C:\WINDOWS\system32\2jdsrch2.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Bbkte] C:\WINDOWS\system32\d?xplore.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Aaou] C:\Documents and Settings\SAGAR\Application Data\othb.exe O16 - DPF: {12E5E9D9-4366-45D9-BA41-D0BCD55AD8CF} (UDConnect Class) - http://17.sharedsource.org/html/Nrs..._1.0.0.1ie.cab? 5GB worth of JUNK???? Thats extreme!
BUT!.. we've more work to do..... Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. Download LSPFix http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/LSPFix.exe and run it. Click on newdotnet3_88.dll on the left window and click on the arrow pointing to the right. Click Finish and follow the prompts. Go to Start->Run and type in services.msc and hit OK. Then look for Content Monitoring Tool (msCMTSrvc) and double click on it. Click on the Stop button and under Startup type, choose Disabled. The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Do not run it yet. Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist: OptimumOnline - I've read the Privacy Policy concerning Cookies and Tracking Devices. I recommend you read it also, and decide on if you want to keep this toolbar. I recommend you remove it. Spykiller - its rogueware (or known to be rogueware in the past) and we highly recommend that you uninstall it. Rogue/Suspect means that these products are of unknown, questionable, or dubious value as anti-spyware protection. BestPopUpKiller - Popup killer of dubious repute by SwankSoft.com. EbatesMoeMoneyMaker NewDotNet Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any): R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\system32\Searchx.htm R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.optonline.net/Home O1 - Hosts: J+J+++++*+*+++++ +++++++++++++ +++++ +++f+f+*+*++++++ +++++++++++++ ++++ O1 - Hosts: +++*+*++++++++ +++++++++++++ ++ O3 - Toolbar: Optimum Online Toolbar - {720B3C59-7EDE-44d1-AD9C-71106A7550AF} - C:\Program Files\OptimumOnline\insptbar.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AutoLoader5Fu71NOlIbaK] "C:\WINDOWS\System32\secidctl.exe" /PC="AM.WILD" /HideUninstall O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpyKiller] C:\Program Files\SpyKiller\spykiller.exe /startup O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [BestPopUpKiller] C:\Program Files\BestPopUpKiller\BestPopupKiller.exe /startup O8 - Extra context menu item: Optimum Online Cursor Search - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Infospace\OptimumOnline\contextsearch.htm O8 - Extra context menu item: RemindU - file://C:\Program Files\EbatesMoeMoneyMaker\System\Temp\upromise_scr ipt0.htm O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file) O9 - Extra button: RemindU - {16BF42FD-CA0A-4f48-819D-B0343254DD67} - file://C:\Program Files\EbatesMoeMoneyMaker\System\Temp\upromise_scr ipt0.htm (file missing) (HKCU) O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\program files\newdotnet\newdotnet3_88.dll' missing O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://store.presario.net/scripts/redirectors/presario/storeredir2.dll?s=consumerfav&c=2c02&lc=0409 O16 - DPF: {3B02AAA2-327C-40ED-A849-4BE819AE5385} (ImgSizer Control) - file://C:\Documents and Settings\ISHWIN\Local Settings\Temp\~DlfnTmp0\imgSizer.ocx O23 - Service: Content Monitoring Tool (msCMTSrvc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\msCMTSrvc.exe Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Searchx.htm C:\Program Files\OptimumOnline\ C:\WINDOWS\System32\secidctl.exe C:\Program Files\SpyKiller\ C:\Program Files\BestPopUpKiller\ C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ C:\Program Files\EbatesMoeMoneyMaker\ c:\program files\newdotnet\ C:\WINDOWS\system32\msCMTSrvc.exe Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes. Reboot into Normal Mode and run new HijackThis scan. If there were some entries that didn't show up in Safe Mode, you may check and fix those that appear now in normal mode (if you do that, make sure to run a new scan again). Save the log file and run KRC HijackThis Analyzer in the same folder to get the result.txt log. Just post the contents of the result.txt file in the forum.

Download LSPFix http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/LSPFix.exe and run it. Click on newdotnet3_88.dll on the left window and click on the arrow pointing to the right. Click Finish and follow the prompts.
Uninstall the following Program from Add/Remove: NewDotNet And fix the following entry in HJT: O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\program files\newdotnet\newdotnet3_88.dll' missing Then navigate to the following folder and delete it. c:\program files\newdotnet\ Reboot the computer and then return to Normal Mode. Run a HJT scan and analyze it. Post back with results. Also, tell us how things are now.

I found newdotnet3_88.dll and brought it to the right side and hit finish. However i also found newdotnet6_88.dll on the left side. Should i remove that also?
I couldnt find NewDotNet in the Add/Remove programs. I ran the HJT scan but couldnt find O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\program files\newdotnet\newdotnet3_88.dll' missing But i could find O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\program files\newdotnet\newdotnet6_88.dll' missing. Should i fix this? And when i tried to find "c:\program files\newdotnet\" it said Windows cannot find the file. Things are working much faster and better than before, but i still get these adds from oniadserve. Is there anything we can do about it? ==================================================================== Log was analyzed using KRC HijackThis Analyzer - Updated on 4/1/05 Get updates at http://www.greyknight17.com/download.htm#programs ***Security Programs Detected*** C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\gcasServ.exe C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1\navapw32.exe C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Security Center\SymWSC.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\gcasDtServ.exe O2 - BHO: NAV Helper - {BDF3E430-B101-42AD-A544-FADC6B084872} - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll O3 - Toolbar: Norton AntiVirus - {42CDD1BF-3FFB-4238-8AD1-7859DF00B1D6} - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gcasServ] "C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\gcasServ.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NAV Agent] C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1\navapw32.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Symantec NetDriver Monitor] C:\PROGRA~1\SYMNET~1\SNDMon.exe O23 - Service: Norton AntiVirus Auto Protect Service (navapsvc) - Symantec Corporation - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exe O23 - Service: ScriptBlocking Service (SBService) - Symantec Corporation - C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\SYMANT~1\SCRIPT~1\SBServ.exe O23 - Service: Symantec Network Drivers Service (SNDSrvc) - Symantec Corporation - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\SNDSrvc.exe O23 - Service: SymWMI Service (SymWSC) - Symantec Corporation - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Security Center\SymWSC.exe ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 12:17:17 PM, on 4/22/2005 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logitech\QCDriver\LVCOMS.EXE C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_02\bin\jusched.exe C:\Documents and Settings\SAGAR\My Documents\HJT\HijackThis.exe R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.optonline.net/Home R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://store.presario.net/scripts/re...c=2c02&lc=0409 R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Window Title = Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by Compaq R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:9022 N3 - Netscape 7: user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", "www.msn.com"); Yes, fix that also in LSPFix. You should not see the O10 entry in HijackThis once you fix it in LSPFix, so that's normal.
So fix that up in LSPFix and make sure this folder is gone by now: c:\program files\newdotnet\ Restart and give us a new HijackThis log.

No problem. We're glad we could help.
You may check and fix this minor entry in HijackThis also: O16 - DPF: {F5820AD3-9B20-423E-B2AA-7AF2B4055746} (CRegistryDownload Class) - http://www.paltalk.com/prod/RegDload.CAB No need for a new log. Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer and uncheck that same box to enable system restore. Your log is clean. To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial http://www.greyknight17.com/spyware.htm#prevent and use the tools provided. Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
