I can't get rid of Troj/HAxdoor-l

I can't get rid of Troj/HAxdoor-l i've ran a scan with my antivirus software (eTrust EZ antivirus) I did a online scan with sysclean and downloaded the cleaner and did a scan while in safe mode and normal (the computer reboots before I can do complete scan with my antivirus scan or the sysclean scan) I started having problems 2 weeks ago while I was using my yahoo web browser I'd get a warning my system is busy and I'd have to press retry or switch server. Once it been pressed a few times (or not at all)i'd have a pop up back door from windows explorer. Then a week later my computer restarting and i'd get report from msn my computer had recovered from major error and when I sent the log msn told me it was a Trj/HAxdoor virus and i've tried everything outside of starting over. I did all the spyware scans Adware and Spybot. I've tried system restoring it I have XP. I even uninstalled my anivirus and reintalled as well as uninstalled sp2 and try to reinstall but now there are errors in reinstalling it. Please update your version of hijackthis and post a new log. In the meantime...download TDS-3
update it's database and do a FULL system scan. Delete any positive trojans found in the bottom window. If unsure...post the Scandump log here.

Thanks microbell for your help. Ok i've updated hijackthis and I did download TDS-3 did the update and did a full system scan while in safe mode so it wouldn't get innerupted. I deleted the files it found were bad. I'm still unable to find the troj/haxdoor l(my computer keeps restarting itself and still internet explorer backdoor into my yahoo browser). Is this Haxdoor I or Haxdoor L? Can't tell via the log. As both versions use simular entrys we will run the fix for L. Please move hijackthis to the root of C: in it's own folder. (C:\HJT)

Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run ad-aware SE with VX2 add-on cleaner, Spybot Search & Destroy (with updated database) and CWShredder as these programs will clean a lot of the crap out first. All links to programs are in my signature. Ok..on to the log…..

If you have a highspeed connection please Run an online virus scan from TrendMicro Please select the “autoclean” option when prompted to do so.

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible also. Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore.


Download and install CleanUp http://cleanup.stevengould.org/

Download my attachment to this post fixhaxL.txt to your desktop. Right click and rename the file to fixhaxL.reg. DO NOT run it yet.


Now..disconnect this PC from the internet (unplug the modem..ect) as it MUST have no internet access.


Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Check and fix the following in HijackThis if they still exist (make sure you do not miss an entry)

Now double click the fixhaxL.reg file we made earlier and merge it into the registry. Say YES when it asks you to merge.

Now run the cleanup utility and reboot/logoff when prompted.

Once back to normal windows...run the fixhaxL.reg file again.

Reconnect your PC to the internet and post another hijackthis log along with the log's below. You may also need to visit the following site..http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/anal...jhaxdoorl.html and check for some of the registry entrys they list. This trojan uses many different ones depending on which version you get.

Download this virus checker and tool from eScan Mwav.exe (Use Link 3)

1. Save it to a folder.
2. Reboot into safe mode
3. Double click the Mwav.exe file.(This is a stand alone tool and NOT just a virus checker......so it won't install anything)
4.Select all local drives, scan all files, press SCAN and when it is completed, anything found will be displayed in the lower pane.
5. In the Virus Log Information Pane......
Left click and Highlight all the info in the Lower pane--- Use "CTRL C" on your Keyboard to copy all found in the lower pane and save it to a notepad file

*Note* If prompted that a Virus was found and you need to purchase the product to remove the malware, just close out the prompt and let it continue scanning.

We are not going to use this to remove anything..but to ID the bad guys.

Once you copy that to a notepad file...highlight the text and copy it here along with a new hijackthis log.

Download Silent runners.Vbs http://www.silentrunners.org/
1. Make sure you have any script blocking software disabled
2. Run the program. It will take a few minutes to complete.
3. Once complete it will produce a log named “StartupPrograms” with Your user and date in the filename. Open that txt file and posts it contents in your next post.

Ok micobell I did everything you asked to do I was unable to remove draw32.dll it said it was being used by someone else or another program in use I tried to remove manually and still can't. Download HSFix from here.. http://www.atribune.org/downloads/HSFix.zip

After it is downloaded, create a new folder on your desktop called "HSFix" and extract all the files into the newly created folder.

Reboot into safe mode. Locate the HSFix folder on your desktop, open it, and double-click "hsfix.bat"

Let the program run. When finished it will produce a log. Save that log and post it here.

Download KillBox http://www.atribune.org/downloads/KillBox.exe

Make sure WildTangent has been removed from your add/remove programs.

Run the cleanup utility and reboot/logoff when prompted. Then reboot to safe mode.

Click start..run...type in regedit. Make sure just "My Computer" is showing in the left pane...then click file...export..and save a copy of it somewere in case you make a mistake. Then navigate to the following keys and remove the entry in RED.

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\
{757D7D27-E7B1-C56E-B51B-B8EE89F0BDEA}\(Default) = (no title provided)

Checkmark the box that says "Delete on Reboot" and checkmark the box "Unregister DLL" (If available) Click the RED X and it will ask to reboot now...click NO...and proceed with the next file. Once you get to the last one click YES and it will reboot.

Reboot into safe mode....Locate and delete the following files. Use KILLBOX if need be...

**Note** Make sure Quicksearch has been removed from add/remove programs. You have several games and that ebook folder. Did you install that? The files I tagged below are adware files. I would also recommend you uninstall Unlimited Checkers and remove it's and Quicksearch directorys as it's laced with spyware/adware.
