Windows Explorer Crashes on right-click

I have a problem where Windows Explorer just starts to crash every time I right click on anything. If I reboot it goes away for a while, but eventually the problem starts up again.

---------------------------
explorer.exe - Application Error
---------------------------
The instruction at "0x035014c2" referenced memory at "0x035014c2". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
---------------------------
OK Cancel
---------------------------

I have scanned my system for viruses, etc with NAV, and have run AdAware and Webroot Spy Sweeper, but they find nothing.

I've also run HJT, but nothing obivous jumps out at me.

I'd really appreciate some help.

I am running Windows 2000 and have installed all service packs and updates.

Here's the log...

Problem solved - I hope

I ran Spybot Search & Destroy, and that did pick up a few traces of spyware, but still explorer crashed. Finally after reading post after post on this kind of issue, someone mentioned that perhaps it was something in the Context Menu (ie right-click).

Of course it was difficult to know what was in the context menu, so seeing as any attempt to open it crashed explorer. So down into the registry I went...
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

I had recently downloaded and installed StuffIt, and it seemed to do just that. As soon as I uninstalled StuffIt my right-click menu was happy once again.

Hooray.

Thought that this post might as well remain here, as it may save someone else the hours of hair-pulling frustration that this problem caused for me.

Note:

If you have this problem it may not necessarily be from StuffIt, but check the registry and see what things are in the Context Menu.
If it happens on all files, then check it for "*", otherwise check the specific file extension.
