Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.
Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. Windows XP's search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders are checked. For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep). Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point. The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Don't run it yet. If you have a fast internet connection (broadband), run an online virus scan at TrendMicro. Just follow the instructions on the site to run the online scan. Otherwise, make sure your antivirus program has the latest definitions and run a full system scan. Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - but double check it): C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr_.exe C:\Program Files\Ioio\Qxasg.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\??erinit.exe Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist: Viewpoint OpenWares LiveUpdate Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any): R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing O1 - Hosts: comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 auto.search.msn.com O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 search.netscape.com O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr_.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Openwares LiveUpdate] C:\Program Files\LiveUpdate\LiveUpdate.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Jhuwzs] C:\Program Files\Ioio\Qxasg.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [jvXz.exe] C:\documents and settings\owner\local settings\temp\jvXz.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NAFApK3mp.exe] C:\documents and settings\owner\local settings\temp\NAFApK3mp.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [htdzfgg] c:\windows\system32\htdzfgg.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Desktop Search] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\desktop.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ffis] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\ffisearch.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Notn] C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\wtta.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Tgdzlh] C:\WINDOWS\System32\??erinit.exe O16 - DPF: {11113111-1411-1611-8111-111111111413} - mhtml:file://c:\nul.mht!http://www.capital-systems.net//browser.exe O16 - DPF: {4C226336-4032-489F-9674-67E74225979B} - http://www.otxresearch.com/OTXMedia/OTXMedia.dll O16 - DPF: {65E7DB1D-0101-4100-BD66-C5C78C917F93} - http://install.wildtangent.com/bgn/...lim/install.cab O18 - Filter: text/html - {950238FB-C706-4791-8674-4D429F85897E} - C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\mfiltis.dll O20 - Winlogon Notify: Setup - C:\WINDOWS\system32\j60s0gd7e60.dll Do you know what the following program(s) are for? If not, fix it in HijackThis and uninstall it: O4 - Startup: Hare.lnk = C:\Program Files\Dachshund Software\Hare\Hare.exe O4 - Startup: Zoom.lnk = C:\Program Files\Dachshund Software\Zoom\Zoom.exe C:\WINDOWS\Integrator.exe - delete this file if you don't know what the Dachshund Software is for Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist: C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\ C:\Program Files\Ioio\ C:\Program Files\LiveUpdate\ c:\windows\system32\htdzfgg.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\wtta.exe C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\ C:\WINDOWS\system32\j60s0gd7e60.dll Do a search for ??erinit.exe and right click on any of the files found. Go to Properties->Version tab and see if it's from Microsoft. Do this for each file found. Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes. Reboot into Normal Mode and run new HijackThis scan. If there were some entries that didn't show up in Safe Mode, you may check and fix those that appear now in normal mode (if you do that, make sure to run a new scan again). Save the log file and run KRC HijackThis Analyzer in the same folder to get the result.txt log. Just post the contents of the result.txt file in the forum. Do this now: Before doing anything, MAKE SURE that you can keep your computer on (at least until we get it fixed). This infection requires us to detect and remove it without rebooting or restarting your computer (unless the instructions say so). If you can't keep your computer on today, then I suggest that you don't get the logs yet until you are ready. With that said (when ready): Please download the following programs required for the removal process: Kill2Me http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/Kill2Me.exe PV http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/pv.zip VX2Finder(126) http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/VX2Finder(126).exe Hoster http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/Hoster.exe CleanUp! http://cleanup.stevengould.org/ or http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/Cleanup.exe KillBox http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/KillBox.exe notify.bat - right click on this link http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/notify.bat and choose Save As...Save it. Please follow the steps below: 1. Download/run the following uninstallers: Look2Me Uninstaller http://www.look2me.com/cgi-bin/UnInstaller IGN Keyword Uninstaller http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/NLNUninstall.zip ClearSearch Uninstaller http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/ClrSchUninstall.zip 2. Run Kill2Me. 3. Unzip the pv.zip files contents to your Desktop (NOTE: It MUST be on your Desktop!). a) Open that folder on your Desktop and double click on the runme.bat file. b) Type in 3 and hit your Enter key. Save the log file. c) Type in 5 and hit your Enter key. Save the log file. d) Remember to copy and paste both of these log files in the forum AFTER you are finished with the rest of the steps below. 4. Run notify.bat and it should open up a notify.txt Notepad file. Copy and paste this in the forum later. 5. Run VX2Finder(126) and click on the Find VX2.BetterInternet button. Click Make Log and post this in the forum later. We also need a list of files in the following folders: C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\ - for these files, if they just have numbers as the filename, right click on them and go to Properties to see what they are. Post the description for each of those here. C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ - there might be a download folder here. We are looking for any randomly named files. Post anything that looks suspicious. Post all of the logs in your next post. We need them all to get a fix for this infection.

For these logs, make sure that Word Wrap is disabled in Notepad. The formatting it creates makes it difficult for us to read it.
I see that the Iolo folder I asked you to delete last time was related to System Mechanic. Did you delete that folder? If you did, reinstall System Mechanic if you want it back. Please print out the instructions here (or save it in Notepad) so that you can follow along more easily. This hijack may take a couple of tries to remove it. If you have any questions during this process, please ask us (just don't restart or shutdown - unless the instructions say so). 1. Run CleanUp! program and click on CleanUp button. Say NO when it asks you to reboot/logoff. Check your Downloaded Program Files folder for any program that you do not recognize and remove anything in question. 2. Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\ and delete SMDEn If any of the above registry keys are giving you problems deleting, right click on them and click on Permissions. Then click on the Advanced button. Make sure the first box (Inherit from parent...) is checked. Click OK and OK. Then try deleting the entry again. Once you're done, close the Registry Editor. 3. Run KillBox now. a) Click on the 'Delete on Reboot' button. b) Check 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. c) Check 'Unregister .dll Before Deleting' for each file (if it's available). Copy and paste each of the following (one by one) into KillBox and hit the X button for each one (when it asks you if you want to reboot, choose NO for all of them): c:\recycler\desktop.ini C:\WINDOWS\system32\guard.tmp C:\WINDOWS\system32\gpjsl3171.dll C:\WINDOWS\System32\spOrder.dll 4. Restart and hit the F8 key (repeatedly until a menu shows up) to enter Safe Mode. 5. Run HijackThis and do a scan. Check and fix the following: R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 auto.search.msn.com O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 search.netscape.com O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch O20 - Winlogon Notify: SMDEn - C:\WINDOWS\system32\gpjsl3171.dll Close HijackThis and run Hoster. Click 'Restore Original Hosts' and click OK. Run CleanUp! program again and clean everything. Say Yes when it asks you to reboot/logoff. 6. Reboot into Normal Mode and run HijackThis. See if the O1 entries are still in HijackThis. If they are still there, go to c:\windows\system32\ and sort the files by date. There will/should be two new DLLs. -- If those O1 entries do return in HijackThis, paste those two files into KillBox (in Step 3 above) and kill them. Just follow through the same procedures (Steps 3 - 6) like before. Make sure NOT to reboot until you deleted those two files (otherwise the names will change again). After that's done (or if you need more help), give us a new set of updated logs (2 PV logs, 1 notify.txt log, 1 VX2Finder log and 1 HijackThis log).

OK, just fix what you can and report back what can't be deleted or any that can't be found.

Please print out the instructions here (or save it in Notepad) so that you can follow along more easily.
This hijack may take a couple of tries to remove it. If you have any questions during this process, please ask us (just don't restart or shutdown - unless the instructions say so). Download WinsockFix http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/WinsockFix.zip and unzip it. Then double-click on it to run it. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\ and delete SMDEn. If it still can't be found, do a search for SMDEn and see where it's located. Write it down. Hit the F3 key to do another search for it just in case it's elsewhere. Post that also if found. If any of the above registry keys are giving you problems deleting, right click on them and click on Permissions. Copy and paste each of the following (one by one) into KillBox and hit the X button for each one (when it asks you if you want to reboot, choose NO for all of them): c:\recycler\desktop.ini C:\WINDOWS\system32\guard.tmp C:\WINDOWS\System32\picsvr\ C:\WINDOWS\System32\vimira.exe c:\windows\system32\dolsp.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\gplol3331.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\n20050308.exe C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\ 4. Restart and hit the F8 key (repeatedly until a menu shows up) to enter Safe Mode. 5. Run HijackThis and do a scan. Check and fix the following: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nsvcin] C:\WINDOWS\system32\n20050308.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Desktop Search] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\desktop.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ffis] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\ffisearch.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [picsvr] C:\WINDOWS\System32\picsvr\picsvr.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] C:\WINDOWS\System32\vimira.exe O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\dolsp.dll O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\dolsp.dll O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\dolsp.dll O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\dolsp.dll O20 - Winlogon Notify: SMDEn - C:\WINDOWS\system32\gplol3331.dll (file missing) O23 - Service: Remote Packet Capture Protocol v.0 (experimental) (rpcapd) - Unknown owner - %ProgramFiles%\WinPcap\rpcapd.exe" -d -f "%ProgramFiles%\WinPcap\rpcapd.ini (file missing) Close HijackThis and run Hoster.

Enable System Restore now if you turned it off. We will proceed with another fix and want to play it safe.
![]() Delete this file -> C:\WINDOWS\System32\spOrder.dll Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and open up the hosts file (no extensions) up in Notepad. There should be a bunch of lines with a # in front of them followed by a single line like: 127.0.0.1 localhost If you have anything after that, please post them here. Download and install CleanUp http://cleanup.stevengould.org/ Download KillBox http://www.atribune.org/downloads/KillBox.exe Download Rkfiles.zip http://skads.org/special/rkfiles.zip UNZIP the contents to a permanent folder on your desktop. Download the following attachment remv3.zip http://forums.skads.org/index.php?showtopic=80 Make a folder on the root drive C:\ and unzip the files into it. Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible also. Now run the Cleanup utility and reboot/logoff when prompted. REBOOT TO SAFE MODE… These tools MUST be run in safe mode!! Once in safe mode… Double click rkfiles.bat It will scan for awhile, so please be patient. Wait until the DOS window closes. Open the C:\log.txt it created and rename it log1.txt. Now Open the folder were you saved remv3.zip files and double click the rem.bat file and let it run. It will delete the files and remove the infection and then make a log of the files it finds. The log file will be C:\log.txt and bad1.txt **Note** Each tool uses log.txt as it’s output file so make sure you save the entry’s from one tools log before running the other as it will overwrite the file if you don’t. Reboot back to normal mode and post the contents of both the log.txt and log1.txt in your next post.

OK, let's try again.
Download KillBox http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/KillBox.exe. Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. For each of the following files below, check the box that says 'Unregister .dll Before Deleting' if it's not grayed out. Copy and paste each of the following into KillBox (hitting the X button for each file - choose NO when it asks if you want to reboot): C:\WINDOWS\system32\pwbwq.dat C:\WINDOWS\system32\vimira.exe C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\nrpr.exe C:\WINDOWS\icont.exe C:\WINDOWS\tsc.exe C:\WINDOWS\Unwash5.exe The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes. Restart and post a new HijackThis log. We should be ok now.

Download FindQoologic-Narrator.zip at http://forums.net-integration.net/in...post&id=134981 and save it to your Desktop.
Create a new folder on your desktop (right click and select New->Folder) and call it FindQoologic. Now unzip the file contents of that zip file into that folder. Locate and double-click the Find-Qoologic.bat file to run it. Wait until a text file opens and post that in your next reply.
