Persistant Attacks
I have run several AV programs and the only infection found has been Trojan.Autoit which I quarantine but it keeps coming back. I don't think it's the problem though after reading descriptions of it.
This virus or trojan horse has been attacking intermittently for a couple weeks now. Once it hits the only way out is to shut down the computer. The symptoms are I am working on a document or typing and an email and suddenly blank lines or repeating symbols like + start appearing to infinity. Right click becomes disabled. Next I get exploding pop ups of an image on my HDD or an email that is opened without me doing it. I have one external HDD. I use Firefox 3.5.1 as my browser. OE for email. Re: Persistant Attacks
Hello and Welcome to TSF.
We no longer use HijackThis as our initial analysis tool. Additionally, you are using an outdated version of HijackThis. Please uninstall from Add or Remove Programs, and then delete your current version. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link I'll give you below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here: NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs. Please post them in a new topic, as this one shall be closed. I currently have as many open topics as I can effectively handle; this will have you back in queue with the proper logs so an available helper would be able to assist. If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply. Please note that the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply.
