Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. Please note that the forum is very busy and if I don't hear from you within three days this thread will be closed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note that these fixes are not instantaneous. Most infections require more than one round to properly eradicate. Stay with me until given the 'all clear' even if symptoms diminish. Lack of symptoms does not always mean the job is complete. Kindly follow my instructions and please do no fixing on your own or running of scanners unless requested by me or another helper at this forum. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running combofix: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix * Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. You can get help on disabling your protection programs here Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply for further review.

Re: Help with Virus (logs inside)
Let's see if we can identify a couple of files I see on this machine.
Please go to: VirusTotal

Re: Help with Virus (logs inside)
Good job, next steps...
Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix. It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Help with Virus (logs inside)
I followed your instructions and watched ComboFix as it was doing the stages, when it got to stage 50 it said "deleting files" then I got a blue screen error and had no option but to manually turn off the computer. So I didn't get a log. Should I try again?
When I logged back on I got a windows error message that said "The C:\WINDOWS\system32\tydytyb.exe application cannot be run in Win32 mode " |

Re: Help with Virus (logs inside)
See if there is a log located at C:\ComboFix.txt and post it if present.
If not, please run DDS once again, and post it's dds.txt log

Re: Help with Virus (logs inside)
Don't worry too much about those messages. They're from Windows, related to the malware we're removing.
I think AVG is interfering with the running of ComboFix. First...ensure you've disabled it completely, as follows AVG 8.5 Please open the AVG 8.5 Control Center, by right clicking on the AVG icon on task bar.
Try running ComboFix once again, by simply double clicking on it. Post the log produced when it completes.

Re: Help with Virus (logs inside)
Let's try this again. Even though AVG says it's disabled, I believe it's interfering with our efforts.
We'll run this new script in safe mode. If ComboFix reboots the machine as part of it's process, please reboot back into safe mode until the log is produced, then you can restart in normal mode to post the log. Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Login on your usual account. Make sure to close any open browsers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Help with Virus (logs inside)
Ok things went a little more smoothly in safe mode, although when it had finished deleting the files it said more information needs to be submitted for analysis, but as I wasn't connected to the internet in safemode I couldn't do that, so it said it saved a resubmit form somewhere... here's the ComboFix log;

Thanks for submitting the file.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please perform this online scan to help look for remnants. This scan will take quite a while, but it's very thorough. Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Firefox or Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner **Note** To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
Click Accept, when prompted to download and install the program files and database of malware definitions.

Re: Help with Virus (logs inside)
Sorry for the long reply, Kasperskys took a while. I don't seem to be getting anymore weird messages sent on msn, MalwareBytes came up totally clean and the report from Kasperskys seems promising... i think? ;

Re: Help with Virus (logs inside)
It would seem so.
![]() No worries about the delay, I know how long that online scan can take. The items Kaspersky found are in ComboFix quarantine, and will be addressed by uninstalling ComboFix as instructed below. Other than that....We should be done here. Some final housekeeping instructions, and protection information for you. Your logs appear clean.You should be good to go. We still have a few items to address. Disconnect from the internet and disable your AntiVirus temporarily. Go to -> Run -> copy/paste in the following single line command & click OKComboFix /Uninstall ![]() This will uninstall ComboFix. It will also implement some cleanup procedures and reset System Restore points. Re-enable your AntiVirus now. Reconnect to the internet at your leisure. Delete any remaining tools we've used (DDS and GMER) and logs from them. Empty your Recycle Bin. Now that your system is clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you follow these steps and look into the following free programs:
In light of your recent troubles, I'm sure you'll like to avoid any future infections. Please take a look at these well written articles If you want to fight back the Malware Writers that have made your life a misery, please take a look here and read what you can do against it. Please respond to this thread one more time so we can mark this thread as resolved.
