Hello JoelB

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

First download AboutBuster from one of these sites.

http://www.besttechie.net/tools/AboutBuster.zip
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4289.html
http://www.malwarebytes.biz/AboutBuster.zip
http://www.atribune.org/downloads/AboutBuster.zip
http://www.snapfiles.com/dlnow/rdir.dll?id=108281

After you download it unzip all files from the zip folder to a folder or your desktop.

Then once it’s unzipped, double click the AboutBuster icon to start the program. You will see this window popup.
Click Ok. Then a new window will popup.
Click Update. After you click Update a new window will popup.
Click Check For Update. Once you click that it will go search for the available updates for download.

If it finds updates make sure you download them. Click Download Update.
If there are no updates it will tell you and then just click Ok.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - but double check it):[b]

ipzt32.exe
addse32.exe

then Run about Buster
Click Start.
Click Ok. This will start the scan.
Click Yes. By killing explorer.exe it makes it easier to remove the files that need to be removed. Note: Don’t worry if your taskbar disappears for a moment. Also, explorer.exe is not Internet Explorer. Now, it will finish the first scan. Then after the first scan is done this window will popup

Click Ok.
Click Yes. This will start the second scan
After the second scan finishes.

Click Exit. Then reboot the computer, and run AboutBuster one more time. After you run it the second time, run HijackThis again, and post a new logfile to be analyzed to make sure you’re totally clean.

Along with another hijack this log

Good job

now how is you computer running

your log is clean

SPYWARE PREVENTION SPEECH

This is a good time to set up protection against further attacks. Read How Did I Get Infected In The First Place?. You need an antivirus that is continually updated, a good firewall, a spyware blocker such as Spyware Blaster, and a real time spyware program such as Spyware Guard, to prevent spyware intrusions. IE-Spyad is another excellent program that places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list, which will help prevent attempts to infect your system. All of the above have good free versions available. However, be very wary with any security software that is advertised in popups or in other ways. They are not only usually of no use, but often have malware in them.

More information and downloads are available at the following links:

Spyware Blaster
IE-Spyad

Thank you! I have read your message and downloaded/read the links you gave me!

My computer is running better than it has in about a year!! THANKS AGAIN!

Well..... I don't understand Spyware Blaster. It says it's open when I exit it, but I don't see it in my icon-tray or anything. Is it really open and working?

My System

Hi JoelB, for SpywareBlaster you just have to Enable All Protection. Just open it (it should have a shortcut created for you, but if not, go to C:\Program Files\SpywareBlaster and double click on the sb.exe file). Then check for updates manually. Go back to the main Status window and click on Enable All Protection link at the bottom. That's it. You may close the program now. Do this weekly to have the latest updates for SpywareBlaster.

Any other questions/problems?

Yes it is once you set it up and update it enable all protection. once you do that
It ads kill bits into your registry and trusted zones . it is't running as far as using resources.thats on good thing about the program, but the protection is there . just goto start-programs and hit spywareblaster and click the update every week to two weeks.
