Hello,
My computer is being taken over by Website Viewer virus. I can't get rid of it no matter how much we try. Below is my Hijack This Scan. Can you help?

My System

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Windows XP's search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point.

Right click on this link http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/DelO15Domains.inf and choose Save As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. You may delete it afterwards.

Download CWShredder and run it. Click on 'I Agree' button if you agree with it. Click on 'Fix' (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you) and OK. If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Let it finish the scan and then hit Next and Exit.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - but double check it):

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\systime.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\systime.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dktibs.exe

Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:

Viewpoint
WebSiteViewer - if listed

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\porynt.dll

Reboot into Normal Mode and run new HijackThis scan. If there were some entries that didn't show up in Safe Mode, you may check and fix those that appear now in normal mode (if you do that, make sure to run a new scan again). Save the log file and run KRC HijackThis Analyzer in the same folder to get the result.txt log. Just post the contents of the result.txt file in the forum.

I ran the suggested fix, but when running HijackThis in safe mode I was unable to delete the item "020 - Winglogon Notify: draw32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\draw32.dll"

My System

Can that O20 entry be deleted in Normal Mode? If it can, do the fix in Normal Mode then, just so that we can remove it.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Make sure to close any open browsers. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - but double check it):

C:\WINDOWS\System32\dwwin.exe

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0F9561D0-03B2-44a3-89A6-E95E417CBA25} - C:\WINDOWS\cerbmod.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\draw32.dll

Restart and run new HijackThis scan. If there were some entries that didn't show up in Safe Mode, you may check and fix those that appear now in normal mode (if you do that, make sure to run a new scan again). Save the log file and run KRC HijackThis Analyzer in the same folder to get the result.txt log. Just post the contents of the result.txt file in the forum.

winlogon still there
No, I could not get it to delete in normal mode. I ran your fix again, and it is still there. When I clicked on info it stated that the line is likely inserted early in booting and to try using delete at boot up. My result log is below. Thanks for your patience.

OK, give us these two logs:

notify.bat - right click on this link http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/notify.bat and choose Save As...Save it.

Right click on this link and choose Save As...Save it to your Desktop. Make sure you have disabled any programs that may block/disable scripts (ex: Ad-Watch, TeaTimer, Norton, etc.). Double click on Silent Runners to run it. This will take a few minutes. It will create a file called Startup Programs followed by your computer name and current date. Open up that file and post all the contents here in your next post.

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to:

Download KillBox (http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/KillBox.exe). Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. For each of the following files below, check the box that says 'Unregister .dll Before Deleting' if it's not grayed out. Copy and paste each of the following into KillBox (hitting the X button for each file - choose NO when it asks if you want to reboot):

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\draw32.dll

If you have Windows XP, go to C:\Windows\Prefetch and delete everything inside that Prefetch folder.

Run the CleanUp program now and choose Yes when it asks if you want to log off.

Restart and post a new HijackThis log.

I made it to the point of running HijackThis, but when I would fix the "020 - Winlogon Notify: draw32 - C:\Windows\system32\draw32.dll" kept coming back. I followed the rest of the steps and when I started Cleanup, the computer shuts down and reboots. (It also appears that any attempt to run a virus scan--Norton, tds3setup--will shut it down and reboot.)

Have you attempted to perform any/all of these tasks while in Safe Mode?

If not, please do so now........TDS3 would be the first one I'd try.

I tried running the programs in SAFE mode and was able to isolate and delete the virus. Thanks very much! The only thing that appears to be wrong is that I now can't locate my CD drive. Any suggestions on remapping this drive? My HijackThis scan is as follows:

Make sure to update Windows and Internet Explorer at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.

Your log is clean. If you disabled System Restore, make sure to enable it now.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial (http://www.greyknight17.com/spyware.htm#prevent) and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.

I thought everything was fine, but I ran Norton anitvirus and it found 3 viruses that could not be removed. It successfully quarantined each of them. I still do not have my D: drive (CDROM) and my log is below. Any ideas?

Does Norton still detect any viruses now? You should be ok if it doesn't detect them now.

Regarding the CD drive, is this a regular cd drive or a cd burner? If it's a burner, try reinstalling the drivers for it. I would also suggest unplugging the cables connected to that cd drive and replug them to make sure it wasn't just a loose cable.
