Trojan Virus removed.... I think....
I would just like everyone to know how I removed the Trojan virus from my computer. I uninstalled all my anti-virus software, then I restarted my computer, then I installed Avast anti-virus software. I then had to restart my computer because the Avast prompt said so. The Avast program ran a deep scan before Windows started. This took over 1 hour. It found the Trojan infected files, and gave me a list of options. I chose delete for all the Trojan infected files. My computer is ok now, or is it? Please give me any suggestions to safeguard my computer.
Also, why do people make viruses? Is the main reason to retain personal information, or just to create chaos? |

Re: Trojan Virus removed.... I think....
Hello and Welcome.
Many infections today are for the financial gain of those who foist them upon end users. We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link I'll give you below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here: NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs. Please post them in a new topic, as this one shall be closed. I currently have as many open topics as I can effectively handle; this will have you back in queue with the proper logs so an available helper would be able to assist. If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply. Please note that the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply.
