Multiple Trojans?
Just recently, it seems that when I log onto my computer, my anti-virus software, Avast! AntiVirus picks up four trojans in rapid succession. This has actually happened twice now in the last twelve hours, making eight infected files. I did the recommended action of placing them in the virus chest. Out of curiosity, I went into the virus chest and looked at the original location, and found them to be in the \AllUsers\Application Data area. So, I went into 'My Computer' and went to that place, only to find some other suspiciously named folders along with the ones Avast has already found.
I guess my questions are these: What are the real benefits of putting these infected files in the Virus Chest over deleting them? And what should I do about these other suspiciously named files in the Application Data? Excuse any ignorance I possess when it comes to these matters, lol. Any help is greatly appreciated. EDIT: Forgot to mention, it wasn't a full virus scan that found these infected files, but rather the On-Access Scanner. Last edited by Postpwned; 10-05-2009 at 11:13 AM. |
