My System

loss of internet access

I am experiencing a loss of internet access...the twist is that I only lose internet connection when Trend Micro Internet Security is running. If I exit the program entirely then Internet is restored, but note that it must be totally shut down and temporarily disabling protection doesn't work. It is almost like Trend is cutting off access because it detects some threat, but if it was I should get a notification and I don't. I see no other odd behaviors at all (ads, redirected searches, uninitiated online activity, etc), only the total loss of internet access if Trend is running. My laptop (posting here with it) has retained perfect web access the whole time so it is not an ISP or router issue.

What I have tried:
- Reset all Trend Micro options to defaults in case something got messed up.
- Full scan with Trend.
- Scanned with Panda online in safe mode.
- Scanned with Malwarebytes both in full boot and in safe mode (installed specifically to scan this time)
- Scanned with SuperAntiSpyware
- Scanned with Sophos Anti-Rootkit (installed specifically to scan this time)
- Used Combofix (I now know I shouldn't have, it was bad advice from another forum...sorry)

Besides meaningless cookies none of these scans found or removed anything at all. Combofix did something...you can see it in the attached logs...but nothing changed on my PC. I honestly don't know if there is a virus issue of some kind or if my Trend Micro is messed up or if there is something else going on.

In case this is meaningful dds.scr did NOT pop up (or create afaik) an attach.txt file. It only made the dds.txt I have pasted here. In the attachment is the ark.txt and combofix' file. I generated the other files after combofix was run...again, I do know this was bad but here I am so hopefully its still useful.

Thank you for your time.

Re: loss of internet access

UPDATE: A lucky search on Google with just the right phrase brought me right back to on older post on these very forums.

Turning off that World Virus tracking option noted in that thread has restored internet access while Trend is running. Be that as it may, I would still appreciate a review of my posted information to see if there is something identifiable that might have caused this odd problem. My Trend is up for renewal soon and if it can get a virus that makes it malfunction I want to get something different next time.
