IGetNet is finally no longer a part of my life, thank goodness. :P
DMVlite refuses to budge: the uninstall only takes you to their website where they offer you a yes/no option and then, without fail (once you've selected "yes" for being sure about uninstalling), the infamous "Page cannot be displayed". Thank you for the page about Norton, though I have a simplistic question that I was hoping you could answer: They give instructions for Norton Antivirus 2005, 2004, and 2003. What instructions do I follow (if any), if I have 2002? Thank you once again for all of your help. I plan on making a donation to your establishment, because you (the people that have aided me greatly) have definitely gone above and beyond the call of duty, in my opinion.

No problem.
So you were referring the removal page here for DMVLite right? Can you reinstall Norton? Boot into Safe Mode and uninstall it there. Then restart and delete any files (or leftover files) that might be in the Program Files folder. Restart again and reinstall Norton.

D'oh! :p
Actually, yes. Thank you for the DMVlite Uninstaller link -- That seems to have worked very efficiently.
:biggrin:Tried to Uninstall Norton whilst in Safe Mode: Received message saying that Windows Installer application can not run in Safe Mode. Awaiting your instruction before further action.

Uninstall in normal mode then. I asked you to uninstall in safe mode earlier because Norton can be a pain to remove sometimes. See how it goes in normal mode.

I did at first have some problems, but everything worked out fine. After I had reinstalled, upon every restart I did receive an error message saying (something like) "LU148 Email protection could not be enabled", but... that's allright, because I never used that feature anyway (I use a web-based email provider) and so I turned it off.
Still having the weird refresh problem, which is really the last thing that's an annoyance. Thanks again. :)

Is the refresh problem occuring overall or just during online use? I would see if there is anything wrong with the video drivers and maybe remove them and restart. Then reinstall that also.
Right click on My Computer->Properties->Hardware->Device Manager and look for video card drivers there.

Not sure if it is the video driver problem then, since you say it's only happening online.
What is the problem online? Is the screen blinking? Are you scrolling through pages when this happens, or does it happen even if you left everything alone on a webpage (no scrolling or clicking)? If you want to reinstall it still to see if it fixes it, look under Display Adapters. The video card drivers should be there. If you have the drivers on hand now, you may remove it. Restart and insert the driver cd to reinstall the drivers.

No, the screen doesn't seem to be blinking. I would say that yes, it does happen even if I leave everything alone. ((Slightly confused by your third question, sorry.))
A perfect example of what happens, though, is searching through Ebay auctions. If I was searching for some item on Ebay, and I pulled up a page of results (this being the first time I have searched for the item) and clicked on a result... Let's just say the item I clicked on supposedly has "Five hours and 30 minutes" left until the auction is over. And let's just say I go and shut down my computer and come back three hours later, turn my computer on, access the internet, and look at the same page. It will still say "Five hours and 30 minutes", but of course when I refresh it, it will tell me the correct time. It's as if my internet no longer automatically refreshes. I would follow your instructions about uninstalling and reinstalling the video card driver, but... My computer came with it preinstalled and I don't seem to have a disk for it.

Sorry about that. The third suggestion I made was directed towards reinstalling the video card drivers.
OK, it might be the temp/cache files that's causing this problem (requiring you to refresh). The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes. Restart and now try eBay again. Restart/Shutdown and go back the next day or couple hours to check it out. Problem solved?
