This has given me the biggest headache that i am actually making my own post! First time for a tech help forum in 10 years of internet use. anyway, the only name i have for this problem is "google redirect virus". but it actually affects other search engines as well. it seems to be random too. sometimes it happens sometimes it doesnt. when i search in google the results are displayed normally but when i click the link it takes me to: clickover.cn, searching4all.com, searchimages.info, etc. they are bogus sites and it is really irritating. meanwhile if i just copy and paste the link into address bar its fine. really weird. i have tried zonealarm antivirus/spyware, malwarebytes anti-malware, super anti-spyware, yahoo anti-spyware, and on and on. i have firefox 3.5.1, xp sp3. this all stared when i ran ccleaner and tune-up utilities registry cleaner. its like it was dormant in my system and i freed it to run wild. this is the most stubborn problem ive ever had with the pc. i have read many threads with this problem but all seem to be custom solutions. please help
