how to block CiD pop-ups?

Dear friends

I have formatted and installed Windows XP recently and experienced few problems, some of them have been solved, some still..
one of the most anooying is showing a new window titled:
CiD www dot adserver5.com/ etc etc.. always showing the same CiD and website but diffrent extentions...
I tried to clean and scan using HouseCall but still coming.. just showing a while blank browser.. sometimes with anumated charachters or emotions etc..
anyone can help me of this pls? and what is this CiD? it's a patch file? or virus? trojan? or any else?
I will be waiting ur answer if not any solution I may consider to format again to rid of this annoying pop-ups

Hello and Welcome.

You most likely installed Messenger Plus! Live with Sponsor. It's the sponsor which delivers CiD popup ads. Sometimes, even uninstalling these from Add or Remove programs does not entirely remove the pest.
