Google links redirect me to random pages

When I perform a search in google, and I click on the search results, they send me to a random website, usually an advertisement. Also, when reading online news articles or journal entries, I have many words double underlined and appearing to be links. I have tried to change browsers (from IE to Google Chrome) but it still happens. I also ran AVG anti-virus scan, ad aware scan, and spybot scan, and after fixing the found files, the problem recurs. I did try to use HIJackThis, but I have no idea what I should or shouldn't delete. I can provide the log if it proves necessary. I don't remember exactly when it started occurring, but it wasn't long after I installed the latest IE browser. Please help! Thank you!
