If you know someone who has a windows xp cd you can try the repair windows option, which repairs(restores)the windows files to original setting as set by the CD. It does however sometimes overwrite all your windows updates, but all you have to do is visit windows update page and install all the missing patches, nothing else is removed. Make sure you disconnect from the internet when doing any of the above, only reconnect when you have installed your antivirus/firewall. I leave this open for a few days, should you need to ask any more questions. |
