Had bad Virus/Malware on it (Security Scanner 2009)

Acer Aspire with 1028 + 256 RAM. It was infected a few weeks back badly. I ran a cleaner on it and it got rid of it but doing this to make sure. I don't believe there is any cracked software on it. It was also badly infected some time ago but as I said, afraid of doing any banking stuff on it just in case.

Here we go:

Re: Had bad Virus/Malware on it (Security Scanner 2009)

Hello Conorooney,

Your logs look clean, although I will tell you that with utorrent onboard, you are leaving yourself open/at risk for another nasty infection. As extremeboy advised you in your previous thread, P2P file sharing is the quickest way to get the nastiest of infections.

Please take the time to educate yourself and anyone else that uses this PC, about the Perils of P2P File Sharing.

As a precaution, have you changed all your login and passwords to any financial institutions?

Re: Had bad Virus/Malware on it (Security Scanner 2009)

Yeah all info has been changed thanks! Well I know uTorrent is only used on this computer on a private site only. No public sites at all as she is well aware of the risks but thank you for your concern!

Kind Regards,

Conor Rooney

P.S. I've a friends computer and as he's put it "It's bucked". He asked to try the same if thats ok. Won't be for another 3 weeks though!

Cheers guys!

Re: Had bad Virus/Malware on it (Security Scanner 2009)

Hello Conrooney,

We'd be happy to help him out. Have your friend run the scans as listed in our pre-posting topic, and begin a new thread. Advise him NOT to run ComboFix on his own. We need to see initial scans from dds.txt and gmer.exe first.

Take care and enjoy your week.
