Re: Dell imspiron 9300 spyware doctor problem
Hello -
Depending on what version of Spyware Doctor you have, it should be something like this Please deactivate Spyware Doctor, as it may hinder the removal of some entries
You can reenable it once your system is clean. Please deactivate Spyware Doctor's OnGuard Tools as it may hinder the removal of some entries
You can reenable it once your system is clean.

Re: Dell imspiron 9300 spyware doctor problem
The System Tray is on the lower right of your desktop screen. It has several icons (small images).
It looks similar to this ![]() If you hover your mouse cursor over each icon, you'll find the one for Spyware Doctor. Quote:

Re: Dell imspiron 9300 spyware doctor problem
Well, the thing to do would be to post the logs DDS created, as well as the log from GMER rootkit scanner.
A slow machine is not always a product of infection, but that's what we focus on in this section of the forum, malware removal. So....review the instructions in our pre-posting topic, and post the logs. We'll begin there.

Re: Dell imspiron 9300 spyware doctor problem
It's all laid out in the pre-posting instructions.
NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help ![]() Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here. Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds to run the tool.
----------------------------------------------------- Please include the following logs in your thread:
----------------------------------------------------- Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here to your desktop.
**Caution** Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<--- ROOKIT" entries

Re: Dell imspiron 9300 spyware doctor problem
I'll do the best I can to help you from here, but remember, you're in front of the machine, I'm not. It might help to have someone more versed with computers to assist you run these scans.
Let's try this scanner.

Re: Dell imspiron 9300 spyware doctor problem
This machine's been infected for a very long time....
Has it been in storage all this time? Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix. It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Dell imspiron 9300 spyware doctor problem
Hello -
There's no need to type in all caps. In forums, it's considered yelling. I'm not hard of seeing. ![]() Are you having troubles running ComboFix? I'd have expected to see a log by now. Since there's nothing on the machine you value, you might consider restoring it to factory condition. Depending on the model, there might be something on the Start menu, or there might be an option to do so during the boot process. https://support.dell.com/support/top...g=&toggle=&dl= https://support.dell.com/support/top...B&docid=347576 http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...n/om/om_en.pdf look in "Solving Problems" > "Restoring your Operating System" To use PC Restore: 1 Turn on the computer. During the boot process, a blue bar with www.dell.com appears at the top of the screen. 2 Immediately upon seeing the blue bar, press <Ctrl><F11>. If you do not press <Ctrl><F11> in time, let the computer finish starting, and then restart the computer again. NOTICE: If you do not want to proceed with PC Restore, click Reboot in the following step. 3 On the next screen that appears, click Restore. 4 On the next screen, click Confirm. The restore process takes approximately 6–10 minutes to complete. 5 When prompted, click Finish to reboot the computer. NOTE: Do not manually shut down the computer. Click Finish and let the computer completely reboot. 6 When prompted, click Yes. The computer restarts. Because the computer is restored to its original operating state, the screens that appear, such as the End User License Agreement, are the same ones that appeared the first time the computer was turned on. 7 Click Next. The System Restore screen appears and the computer restarts. 8 After the computer restarts, click OK.
