Trojan/Malware Issues
Hello all, I am new to this forum and want to say thanks in advance. Anyway, I began having trouble on my machine this week when virus software detected something called trojan.zlob. I ran my antivirus and I thought the situation was fixed. In actuality, my troubles started last week when my computer was infected some fake anti-virus program (whose name escpaes me right now). At that time, I went through a series of steps to remove it manually. I have no idea whether this is related to the trojan thing for not.
Anyway, after starting my computer this morning, it seems that I am still having troubles. My home page has been changed to something called mywebsearch.com. So I downlaoed hijackthis and have run a scan. The log is below and I am hoping someone can help me find and eliminate any problems. Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 8:02:37 AM, on 6/26/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.6001.18702) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\Smc.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\SNAC.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\Program Files\SPSS Text Analysis Data\MSSQL$SPSS_STAFS\Binn\sqlservr.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\oracle\ora92\bin\omtsreco.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\Rtvscan.exe C:\Program Files\Canon\CAL\CALMAIN.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\CCM\CcmExec.exe C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\Core\smax4pnp.exe C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\DVDLauncher.exe C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Album Starter Edition\3.0\Apps\apdproxy.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\SmcGui.exe C:\PROGRA~1\VERIZO~1\HELPSU~1\VERIZO~1.EXE C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktop.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\RUNDLL32.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\windows\romeo15.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Verizon Online\ConnMgr\cmisrv.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktop.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\sqlmangr.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Verizon Online\AppMgr\vzOpenUIServer.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://search.mywebsearch.com/mywebs...RiSK3F6_DHRoDw R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157 R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896 R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896 R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157 R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://www.westernu.edu/ R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = *.local R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo!
