pctsTray.exe HELP!!?

Hi all

I need some help in regards to an error message that keeps appearing everytime I start my pc up. I'm running Windows XP (Service Pack 2 from what I remember) and maybe 1 out of 5 times I can get online or do things for a short time before my pc freezes and I need to re-start. The error message appears around 3 times over the first 4 minutes and although I press the 'Ok' button each time my pc is as slow as anything and in most cases it freezes :( I did notice someone else had this problem but when I checked on the link on their forum it sent me to an empty forum reply so still stuck. I'll be honest, im not that computer literate so any walkthrough help would be massively appreciated :)

Kind thanks in advance

Matt

Hello and welcome to TSF

Re: pctsTray.exe HELP!!?

Hi there

Many many thanks for gettinjg back to me-I have got Spyware and in the process I have un-installed it from my pc. This seems to have clearted the problem and now the system is running normal again (he says jinxing it).

My only concern now is do I re-install it and hope for the best? I am running Avast at the moment and as far as I know these 2 programs were compatible-if not would you have any suggestions?

Kind thanks

Matt

You can try that and see if the problem persists, i have not used SpywareDoctor in about fours years so i really could not comment on how good a programme it is these days.

I would recommend Superantispyware and MalwareBytes AntiMalware , both these programs have a free version which will remove any spyware found, without the need to purchase the full version.
