Exclamation Unknown Malware Problem

I don't know what the problem is. I've tried several different ways and was unsuccessful at fixing the problem. I removed my comodo firewall and windows live one care. I keep getting error codes when I turn on the computer here's the most common one:

rundll32.exe - Bad Image

The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.Windows.GdiPlus_6595b64144ccf1df_1.0.2600.5581_x-ww_dfbc4fc4\gdiplus.dll is not a validWindows image. Please check this against your installation diskette

I was referred by a recent reply to my latest thread to paste my logs here, I hope I posted everything right.

Re: Unknown Malware Problem

Hello -

I don't see any active malware but there are a few issues.

First...you have more than one AntiVirus, and more than one Firewall installed. I see you mention that you uninstalled Comodo and OneCare, but they are both present in the logs.

While this may seem like greater protection, it can cause problems including slowdowns and system hangs. Choose one to keep and uninstall the other. This means either keep Avira and Comodo, and uninstall OneCare completely, or, uninstall Avira and Comodo, and keep OneCare.

That's not the most critical issue. In your Event Logs, you have MANY failed system files, some replaced by Windows File Protection, some not replaced, likely when you ran sfc, though from your other thread, it seems as though you felt SFC did not do anything.

With as many failed files as are present in that log, I would recommend a repair install of your OS at the least, and possibly a format and reinstall if that doesn't solve it.

See this link for a good overview of a repair install. Be sure to back up any valued data before attempting a repair install.

Please ask for help in the Windows XP section of the forum for support of a repair or reinstall.
