Virus - Disables HJ, Anti virus and redirects

Hi All,

Was hoping for some help getting rid of this virus I think I have. Basically I have noticed that I am being redirected when I click on links generated by google or yahoo. I have also noted pop ups and such. I have tried various virus scans and using Hijackthis but they either would'nt open or 'failed' to download the updates.

Today I managed to generate a HJ log by reinstalling the program under a different name. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am helping my girlfriend put a presentation toegther for a job interview over this weekend.

HijackThis is no longer the preferred initial analysis tool in this forum
