Virus found in MSDVD folder

I am running Bitdefender, and it found the following viruses:

C:\SwSetup\MSDVD\Data1.cab=]_F4BB573B7C8648C1AF23ED925A53C393 Packer.RLPack.D

There are 7 instances of this notification. What concerns me is the location of this virus. If I delete them, is this going to affect my DVD operability?

Thanks in advance

Re: Virus found in MSDVD folder

Hello -

Is this an HP machine? That folder location is for HP MediaSmart DVD install cab files.

Seems like that may be a possible false positive. Contact Bitdefender support, or post in their support forums.

Yes, this is an HP machine. Thanks for the info. I will forward this "virus" to Bitdefender for advice. Thanks again Tetonbob

Re: Virus found in MSDVD folder

Glad to help. I'd be curious to know the results of your contact with Bitdefender. The file may be getting flagged for content, but also may be getting flagged by heuristics due to it's packer.
