Google links ALWAYS open in new tab and redirects randomly

I have been using Mozzilla firefox for some time and I have been having this problem for some time and finally got enough of it. Everytime I click on a link from google, it redirects it to occasionally another search engine, and other times it leads to a series of blank pages. This thing is getting on my nerves now because I have to copy and paste each link EVERY SINGLE TIME! Can someone please help me!
