---About a month ago I acquired a virus (I think from a link on facebook)....I've experienced several symptoms since then:
-Black background with "Warning..your computer has been infected and needs to be scanned now" -Slowness -Pop ups...Many advertising "antiviruspro 2009" and other "software" -Red "Warning...Your computer has been infected, etc." text in the background of my Firefox browser ... ---I've run scans with Spybot, AdAware, AVG, Avira, avast and they all will find files and seemingly delete them, but I still have the same problems....often the scans will be "Unable to delete" certain files......DeepDive, Virtumonde.dll, Win32, PremiumSearch.... ---Also, usually when I start the computer, a RUNDLL box will come up saying "Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\mvkvtqqh.dll........The specified module could not be found."....or the file may be toturobe.dll or something instead... ---Currently, my symptoms include a plain blue background instead of my wallpaper...The wallpaper will be there when I first start it, but is replaced by the blue background....Many different virus threat blocks by my various antivirus programs, slowness, many popups, and on my Windows toolbar is a red circle with a white with a dialog box coming out that says "Warning! Security report...Your computer is infected! It is recommended to start spyware cleaner tool."....I have avoided clicking on this bubble, because I'm sure it is a virus... I have tried to eliminate this problem with simple and obvious means but nothing seems to work and I feel I'm just getting my computer more and more infected and making it harder to eliminate the threats. ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED, as I am unaware about how to proceed from here. Here is a HijackThis log from the other day..I haven't used the computer since (I'm posting from another computer): Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 11:10:32 PM, on 5/12/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16791) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\EvtEng.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\S24EvMon.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswUpdSv.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe C:\WINDOWS\RTHDCPL.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Viewpoint\Toolbar Runtime\3.7.0\FotomatDeviceConnect.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgtray.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\V0500Mon.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\GrooveMonitor.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\sched.exe C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\avgnt.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\ashDisp.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\avguard.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgwdsvc.exe C:\Program Files\Spybot - Re: PLEASE HELP! Blue screen, Popups, Virtumonde, DeepDive, etc.
Hello and welcome to TSF.
HijackThis is no longer the preferred initial analysis tool in this forum We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link given below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a Quote:
Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here: NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs. Please post them in a new topic, as this one shall be closed. If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.
