Help, Mcafee down and defender detecting changes after download.
I run Windows Vista...
After downloading (stupidly) a file from rapidshare I scanned with spybot, mcafee, and adaware and found no problems, thus I ran the program...Soon after defender detected changes and I did a system restore and when the computer had rebooted mcafee told me my computer was unprotected and that my detection signature file was over 30 days old, however I check for mcafee updates every day. Mcafee kept on trying to download virus-scan, however the download kept on restarting. My computer is still unprotected, and mcafee will not scan and is giving me the message "Scan failed to start; result= -2147467249" and is advising that I re-install mcafee because "Some components are missing" PLEASE HELP, any would be much appreciated.
