My machine seemed to be running slow and then whilst I wasn't getting any odd pop-ups, My Mrs under her user on the same pc started to get odd pop-ups asking her to reboot. Checking task manager (only me logged on) and ticking show all users displays 2 csrss.exe running. Doing a search on the pc reveals 3 instances of the application as folows:

csrss.exe 19/01/2008 System 32 (C:\Windows)
csrss.exe 19/01/2008 C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-csrss_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6001.18000_none_58e3e3d7e415ae4c
csrss.exe 02/11/2006 C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-csrss_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_56ad21dbe72a9d78

Attach.txt and ark.txt are attached and the DDS text follows. Grateful for help.

Re: dwear

Hello -

That's normal for Vista when you check All Users

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/For...-d0c80e4a4c6e/

More in depth explanations here,

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/m...stakernel.aspx

under the heading

Startup Processes

I see no sign of malware in these logs.

See if anything in this topic helps with a slow machine...

Is your PC running slow...?

otherwise, I'd suggest you ask for help in the Windows Vista section of the forums.

Re: dwear

Hi tetonbob,

Thanks, that's a relief. I'm generally quite good on the PC housekeeping front, but I'll run through all the suggestions in the "Is your PC running slow...?" section. Thanks very much indeed for the help and reassurance.
