Internet connection stops after 5-10 minutes

I'm assuming I have some sort of a virus that causes my computer to lose internet connection after 5-10 minutes of turning on my PC. What's the best way to confirm and correct it?

PS. I know that the connection is fine because I'm connected to a laptop, which never loses connection.

Hello and Welcome.

I would not assume anything. Loss of internet connection is not typically something modern malware does. They can't make money if the affected machine loses it's internet connection.

It could be that you have a hardware issue with the one machine.
