Ran my Utilities but System still very slow
I know something is still wrong! I have defragmented and I have run Disk Cleanup, Ad-Aware, Spybot, and AVG - I also have Spyware Guard installed and use the Windows Firewall. (I DO run and update my utilities religiously) However, my computer is still running/loading slowly. At times, I feel as if something is running because I see the little light flickering - and this is when I am just reading or on Yahoo. When I bring up the Task Manager, I see nothing unusual under "Processes" or "Applications" - what can it be? Could it be an update that I'm not aware of, like Windows? Should I run a HJT log? Help! (P.S. I connect to the Internet through a Comcast cable connection. I use Firefox for my browser, and have WOT and Finjan as additional warning systems. I am not a careless surfer, and try to check sites first through McAfee's SiteAdvisor.com - but, of course, I'm not perfect!)

Re: Ran my Utilities but System still very slow
Hello and Welcome.
A slow machine is not always a product of infection. I don't see any sign of active infection Please see this sticky topic: Is your PC running slow...? If that does not help.... We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link I'll give you below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here: NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs. Please post them in a new topic, as this one shall be closed. If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.
