Hi. I have read the first steps. I need help w/a Kollah infection. I know it is kollah because thr Aol spyware protection keeps blocking it (apprently unsuccessfully). Kollah redirects my searches on how to remove it. It redirects my attempts to access this forum even. I am posting this with my cell phone. I will probably have to manually remove it since I can not post any logs on any tech support forum. Please tell me how to go about this? I have already uninstalled Limewire and have locked down my firewall.
TIA! OS: Windows XP Professional SP2 Antivirus: McAfee security suite, Adaware 2008, Spybot S&D, Spywareblaster, HijackThis. |

Re: Kollah Infection (please help)
Sorry, but we can't work without logs. That's working blind. Do you have means to transfer data/files between the machine and your cell phone? If not, you'll need access to another computer, and a USB stick/flash drive, to download tools to and logs from the affected machine. Otherwise, you may be better off taking the machine to a local technician.

Re: Kollah Infection (please help)
Hi! Thanks for responding. I discovered on my own that TDSS rootkit was the culprit of my problems. I used devide manager to disable it. Then and only then was I able to run any of my anti spyware programs and access tech support websites. Currently I am on another tech website where they are helping me with cleaning off any residual.
