Trojan-clicker.win32.tiny.h....and many other varieties
Ok, so the problem started yesterday. Got to a website I didn't want to be in, and bam, the ads starting popping and I started getting popups by "Windows Firewall". I got one at first, but I started getting many different varieties. The first I got was the Trojan-clicker.win32.tiny.h. After that I got win32.greenscreen, .keylogger.aa, trojan-downloader.win32.agent.bq, trojan-spy.html.bankfraud.dq. All of these have come up as a "Windows Security Alert" as a "Critical" risk. And they continue to periodically popup.
I don't know if that's the virus itself, or actually the windows firewall. I've gone through some of the steps listed. I tried to do PandaActivescan, but it took 5.5 hrs and when it finished, my computer froze (it was mostly frozen throughout the process, except for firefox which still ran the scan). It picked up 33 viruses/spyware, but I was not able to disinfect (it only would let me disinfect 1 anyway). There were 2 vulnerabilities detected; I think one was high-risk. After that I decided to turn off the power and restart. There was some mention about a disk, but I said cancel, and it allowed windows to startup. I decided to go ahead and do the next step (I wasn't able to get a log of the Pandascan). I got Spyware Blaster and IE-Spyad installed, but I haven't been able to get any windows updates installed. Usually it appears on my taskbar, but it hasn't now. I hope that is helpful. I have run Hijack-this, but apparently I'm supposed to wait to post that until requested. I was able to run it ok. I have XP, and I was running IE6 when the problems started. I have Opera and Firefox on my computer as well. I should also mention my computer is running slower than it normally does/should. Any questions, please let me know. I hope I can get this resolved quickly before it messes up my computer. I'm on edge here. Thanks! Last edited by Suaveness; 10-03-2008 at 08:22 AM. |

Hello and Welcome to TSF.
Please Subscribe to this Thread to get immediate notification of replies as soon as they are posted. To do this click Thread Tools, then click Subscribe to this Thread. Make sure it is set to Instant notification by email, then click Add Subscription. Please note that the forum is very busy and if I don't hear from you within three days this thread will be closed. Please copy this page to Notepad and Save it to your Desktop in order to assist you when carrying out the following instructions. Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence. ------------------------------------------------------ Please note that these fixes are not instantaneous. Most infections require more than one round to properly eradicate. Please stay with me until given the 'all clear' even if symptoms seemingly abate. Kindly follow my instructions and please do no fixing on your own or running of scanners unless requested by a helper. ------------------------------------------------------ One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan. This type of infection allows hackers to remotely control your computer, log keystrokes, steal critical system information, and download and execute files without your knowledge. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation. Please read this: How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud, and CC Fraud? ------------------------------------------------------ Please download ComboFix and Save it to your Desktop. **Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop** First, we need to install the Windows Recovery Console. The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery(repair) mode, if needed. This allows us to help you in the case that your computer has a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time. Download the file from this Microsoft page: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Save it as it is originally named to your Desktop. Now close all open windows and programs, including all antivirus and antispyware programs. Get help here Then drag the setup package onto ComboFix.exe and drop it. Follow the prompts to start ComboFix and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Recovery Console. As part of installing the Recovery Console, ComboFix will begin to run. Your desktop may disappear. This is normal. It will return. ComboFix will now automatically install the Windows Recovery Console onto your computer, which will show up as a new option when booting up your computer. Do not select the Windows Recovery Console option when you start your computer unless requested to by a helper. Once the Recovery Console is installed, this blue window will appear: ![]() Please continue as follows:
Please post that log, ComboFix.txt along with a new HijackThis log so we may continue cleansing the system. ------------------------------------------------------ Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan and Save a Logfile'. Save the logfile and post it here. Please close HijackThis now. ------------------------------------------------------ Go to Start > Run and copy/paste the following into the Run box and click OK: C:\Qoobox\Add-Remove Programs.txt A text file should open. Please post the contents of that file in your next reply. ------------------------------------------------------ Please post the following in your next reply: ComboFix.txt new HijackThis log Add-Remove Programs.txt If you have any questions along the way...STOP and ask them before proceeding. |

Re: Trojan-clicker.win32.tiny.h....and many other varieties
Well I'm having some trouble. I was able to download the combofix and microsoft file, and when I drag it onto the combofix, it asks me if I want to run. I click Run, but nothing is happening.
I think I've stopped all the antivirus prgms that I can (I can't even access Norton anymore) |

Re: Trojan-clicker.win32.tiny.h....and many other varieties
Hi Suaveness.
1. Go to Start > Run and copy/paste the following single-line command into the Run box (including the quotation marks): "C:\Documents and Settings\Kaarthik the Great\Desktop\ComboFix.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\Kaarthik the Great\Desktop\WindowsXP-KB310994-SP2-Pro-BootDisk-ENU.exe" and click OK 2. If that doesn't work, right-click ComboFix.exe and rename it to Combo-Fix.exe and try the drag & drop again. 3. If that doesn't work, try dragging & dropping it in Safe Mode. Let me know if you have trouble. |

Re: Trojan-clicker.win32.tiny.h....and many other varieties
Alright, so renaming it seemed to work.
Combofix started and seemed to be working, but now a popup has come that says "Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original versions of these files" "Insert your Windows XP Professional CD-ROM now" It gives me "Retry", "More Information", and "Cancel" What should I do? (combofix has paused while it awaits a decision) edit: Now another popup has come that says I chose not to restore the files (even though I clicked nothing). It asks if I should keep the unrecognized versions edit2: It seems that my computer restarted itself...then when it came back, it says it was preparing a log, and right after the computer is restarting again edit3: After restarting, the combofix did not start up (therefore no log) I have 2 popups: C:\WINDOWS\system32\vnprvjnq.dll and C:\WINDOWS\system32\asyekrrn.dll On a positive note, windows update has reappeared on my tasktray. What should I do now? Re-do combofix to get a log, or do a hijackthis log? Last edited by Suaveness; 10-11-2008 at 04:21 PM. |

Double-click Combo-Fix.exe and follow the prompts to run it again. Then follow the rest of the instructions from above.

Re: Trojan-clicker.win32.tiny.h....and many other varieties
See if ComboFix.txt is there. Post a fresh HijackThis log. Do you have your original CD? Don't do anything with it, just tell me.
Also, see if this file exists. Put this into the Run box: C:\Qoobox\ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt |

Re: Trojan-clicker.win32.tiny.h....and many other varieties
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Save it to your Desktop.
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. ------------------------------------------------------ |

Ok, it seemed to work properly here. I had to restart (the popup asking for XP Pro popped up again, but I quickly restarted before it had a chance to do anything)

Hello again, Suaveness. We cross-posted.
Please be patient when posting and only reply once. And then wait for my reply. I won't always notice new information in edits. If you get any more notifications during these fixes, just cancel them. It appears that you didn't post the entire HijackThis log. ------------------------------------------------------ |
