Re: help with qomcyARI.dll
ok i downloaded the program and put it on my desktop and ran it but it seems to hang/freese when it starts "performing registry dump" using NO cpu... is it supose to take over 20 mins??
EDIT close the program and restarted the compouter and turned off my firewall antivirus...its now using cpu about 50% so im guessing its workin now... although it still seems to be stuck on "performing registry dump"..

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll
Are you actually running it by doubleclicking it on the desktop, or are you running it from the browser download manager? If you're running it from Firefox download manager, it will hang. It should take less than a couple minutes to run.

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll
Terminate the application, and reenable your protections. It should not take that long, nor should it hang.
Let's do this instead... I'd like you to rename HijackThis.exe to rob.exe.
Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan and save a Logfile'. Save the log file and post it here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also... Create an uninstall list: With HiJackThis still open
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll
Have you fixed anything with HijackThis, or run additional scans since the last HjackThis log posted? There are several lines no longer present in the log.
Are you receiving notice from your protection applications still about infection, particularly qomcyARI.dll ?

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll
I don't see any active infection in that log, but that's one of the reasons I wanted to run RSIT. It looks at more than HijackThis does.
Let's do this... Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Firefox or Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner Click Accept, when prompted to download and install the program files and database of malware definitions.
**Note** To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble viewing the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clean logs...
Let's get one more look with another tool. Download OTViewIt to your desktop.

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll
That's just fine. Thanks. That shows me enough to want to run this next tool.
Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first. The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery mode if needed. This allows us to help you in the case that your computer has a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time. As part of installing the Recovery Console, ComboFix will begin to run. Follow the prompts to install the Recovery Console. Your desktop may disappear. This is normal. It will return. Once the Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see a message that says: The Recovery Console was successfully installed. ![]() Please continue as follows: Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware. When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you. Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that, along with a new HijackThis log. If you have any questions along the way, STOP and ask them before proceeding.

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll
Looks like ComboFix cleared out the rest of the junk which was present.
If the machine is still slow to boot, check out this article, and try some of the solutions there. http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...ning-slow.html From a malware perspective, we should be done here. Let me know how things are, and I'll have what should be final instructions.
