hi
please help
i turned on my computer today and right off the bat it was saying i had virues one of them was named virtumonde.dll and qomcyARI.dll and a few others(cant remeebr what they were called.
also my desktop wallpaper was changed to one that said"windows security message" " your computer is infected with (viruses named above) please actevate your antivirus or spyware cleaner" "please click here to actavate your antivirus"
as soon as i saw this i unpluged my internet and did scans with "kaspersky internet security (7.01.325 with latest updates ) and it found a few viruses includeing the ones named above..it said it fixed/deleted them i restarted and scaned with spybot search & destroy (1.6.0.30 with latest updates) and it fond them all again and said it fix/deleted them...
i restaed and scaned again with spybot and sure enough there still there...i even scan with both spybot and kasp in safe mode and still no fix...

also sdpybot shows that " qomcyARI.dll " is set to startup..i tryed deleting it in spybot but it just shows up again

heres my hijackthis log
hope you can help.

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll

If you still require assistance for this issue....
  • Download RSIT by random/random and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click RSIT.exe to start the tool and click Continue at the disclaimer.
  • When the scan completes it will open a log named log.txt maximized, and a log named info.txt minimized.
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of log.txt here.
  • Please attach info.txt to your post.
To attach a file to a new post, simply
  1. Click the[Manage Attachments] button under Additional Options > Attach Files on the post composition page, and
  2. copy and paste the following into the "Upload File from your Computer" box:
    C:\rsit\info.txt
  3. Click Upload.

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll

Are you actually running it by doubleclicking it on the desktop, or are you running it from the browser download manager? If you're running it from Firefox download manager, it will hang. It should take less than a couple minutes to run.

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll

Terminate the application, and reenable your protections. It should not take that long, nor should it hang.

Let's do this instead...

I'd like you to rename HijackThis.exe to rob.exe.
  • Navigate to D:\New Downloads\HiJackThis.exe
  • Right click on HijackThis.exe
  • Select 'Rename'
  • Type in rob.exe
  • Press Enter.

Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan and save a Logfile'. Save the log file and post it here.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also...

Create an uninstall list:

With HiJackThis still open
  • Click on the configure button on the bottom right
  • Click on the tab "Misc Tools"
  • Click on the Box that says "Open Uninstall Manager"
  • Click on the button "Save list"
  • Copy and past the List from the notepad file into your post

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll

Have you fixed anything with HijackThis, or run additional scans since the last HjackThis log posted? There are several lines no longer present in the log.

Are you receiving notice from your protection applications still about infection, particularly qomcyARI.dll ?

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll

I don't see any active infection in that log, but that's one of the reasons I wanted to run RSIT. It looks at more than HijackThis does.

Let's do this...

Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Firefox or Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner

Click Accept, when prompted to download and install the program files and database of malware definitions.
  • Click Run at the Security prompt.
  • The program will then begin downloading and installing and will also update the database.
  • Please be patient as this can take several minutes.
  • Once the update is complete, click on My Computer under the green Scan bar to the left to start the scan.
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
  • Do NOT be alarmed by what you see in the report. Many of the finds have likely been quarantined.
  • Click View scan report at the bottom.
  • Click the Save Report As... button.
  • Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop so that you may post it in your next reply.

**Note**

To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
  • Close any open programs
  • Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan.

Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble viewing the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll

Clean logs...

Let's get one more look with another tool.

Download OTViewIt to your desktop.
  • Close all windows and open it
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you (it gets saved on your desktop as well ), post those logs here.

Re: help with qomcyARI.dll

That's just fine. Thanks. That shows me enough to want to run this next tool.

Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery mode if needed. This allows us to help you in the case that your computer has a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

As part of installing the Recovery Console, ComboFix will begin to run. Follow the prompts to install the Recovery Console. Your desktop may disappear. This is normal. It will return.

Once the Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see a message that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that, along with a new HijackThis log.

If you have any questions along the way, STOP and ask them before proceeding.
