Re: "Windows Security Alert" continues after XPAntivirus removed
Try attaching C:\Qoobox\Quarantine to your post and i`ll try to upload it to Bleeping Computers.
Make sure it is zipped or you can use winrar. |

Re: "Windows Security Alert" continues after XPAntivirus removed
Ok.
Just to confirm, there is a folder named Quarantine in C:\QooBox that I zipped up including subfolders (~35MB zipped). I didn't find a file named Quarantine in C:\QooBox. Does that sound right? Thanks, Michael. |

That file is too big to be uploaded, can you attach this instead:
C:\QooBox\ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt |

Re: "Windows Security Alert" continues after XPAntivirus removed
Hello again Michael
Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it: Quote:
![]() Refering to the picture above, drag CFscript into ComboFix.exe Follow the prompts, and post the resulting log, C:\ComboFix.txt Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system. Warning: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall When CF finishes running, the ComboFix log will open along with a message box--do not be alarmed. With the above script, ComboFix will capture a file to submit for analysis. Ensure you are connected to the internet and click OK. A browser will open. Simply follow the instructions to copy/paste/send the requested file(s). If the files are uploaded successfully please post the Combofix.txt and a new Hijackthis Log. |

Re: "Windows Security Alert" continues after XPAntivirus removed
Hi,
I ran the new CFScript, but early in the execution the system rebooted. When I logged back in, ComboFix didn't automatically continue as it did last time it rebooted - no log either. I did notice on the desktop a zip file named [4]-Submit_2008-08-17@8.34.zip. It contains three files: catchme.log, UiHlp.dll.vir, and wdgzyfmf.exe.vir. It is only 1.51KB. I also noticed two other similarly named files, I guess from the previous 2 attempts with ComboFix. They are 169KB and 418KB in size. Combofix gave a prompt that there is an updated version available. I didn't update it to avoid interfering with the script. Please let me know if I should try to rerun the CFScript. Thanks, Michael. |

Re: "Windows Security Alert" continues after XPAntivirus removed
Hi,
I was able to successfully upload the file finally. I couldn't find C:\Combofix.txt, but found C:\Combofix\Combofix.txt with the right date/time, so that is posted here (doesn't show much as looks incomplete) as well as the hijackthis log.
