computer running slow, problem with Rundll32.exe
Hi, my computer has recently been slow, I believe that the problem has to do something with the Rundll32.exe. I used Spybot to detect the spyware, and I tried to fix it, but it keeps coming back up. On Spybot it shows on the system startup Value: BM436fe0ec and command line: Rundll32.exe "C:/WINDOWS/system32/peuxtapq.dll",s. hopefully this can be some help.
Here is the DSS. Sorry but I couldn't find any extra.txt in my folder. Re: computer running slow, problem with Rundll32.exe
Hi, welcome to tsf!
Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running combofix: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first. The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time. Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says: The Recovery Console was successfully installed. Please continue as follows:
Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system: C:\ComboFix.txt C:\Qoobox\Add-Remove programs.txt New HijackThis log.

Re: computer running slow, problem with Rundll32.exe
Hi,
That's ok. Just follow the steps when you return and post the logs. Ill be standing by. You seem to have installed the wrong package for the recovery console. Nevertheless, we will continue since it will work anyway in case we need it. Are you using undetected cheat engine program? AVG has released version 8 for quite some time now. You should update it to its latest version. *I see you have P2P software ( Azureus Vuze, LimeWire 4.18.3 ) installed on your machine. We are not here to pass judgment on file-sharing as a concept. However, we will warn you that engaging in this activity and having this kind of software installed on your machine will always make you more susceptible to re-infections. It may be contributing to your current situation. This page will give you further information. Please note: Even if you are using a "safe" P2P program, it is only the program that is safe. You will be sharing files from uncertified sources, and these are often infected. The bad guys use P2P filesharing as a major conduit to spread their wares. References for the risk of these programs are here, here, and here. I would strongly recommend that you uninstall it, however that choice is up to you. If you choose to remove this program, you can do so via Control Panel >> add/remove programs If you decide to uninstall them, also delete these Folders if they still exist: C:\Program Files\Azureus C:\Program Files\LimeWire C:\Documents and Settings\ryanho.RYAN\Application Data\Azureus C:\Documents and Settings\ryanho.RYAN\Application Data\LimeWire __________ *While both Tea timer and SpyBot are closed Right click here and click save link as Save it as resetteatimer.bat to your desktop
Since it will not be needed again delete ResetTeaTimer.bat. You may turn the Tea timer back on via SpyBots' tools> resident page when your computer is clean. Note: If teatimer gives you a warning afterwards that some changes were made, allow this instead of blocking it. *Open HijackThis > choose Scan Only > Place a checkmark in the boxes beside these entries in bold. O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UserFaultCheck] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dumprep 0 -u O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file) Close your browsers and all open windows except for HijackThis, then click "Fix checked". Exit HijackThis. __________ *delete these files: C:\WINDOWS\system32\wqnsjqww.ini C:\WINDOWS\system2420172.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\_packet.dlluninstall delete these folders: C:\VundoFix Backups C:\WINDOWS\system32\371186 C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Viewpoint C:\Program Files\Viewpoint let me know if you can't remove something from the list. *click start > run > copy and paste: sc delete ep1eiv1f7z press enter. sc delete Splr_Service press enter. __________ *Your Java is out of date.... Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components.
*Please run this online scan to help look for remnants. First, Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and remove Kaspersky online scanner if present prior to downloading the most up-to-date one. Next, establish an internet connection & perform an online scan using Internet Explorer at Kaspersky Online Scanner Answer Yes, when prompted to install an ActiveX component.
**Note** To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble viewing the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%. On your next reply, please include a

Re: computer running slow, problem with Rundll32.exe
Hi,
I see you probably tried to download a full version of counterstrike through limewire. As you've seen in the scan report, the one you downloaded is infected. Downloading such programs from unreliable sources could spell disaster and that is exactly what happened to you. Please avoid doing so next time. Please uninstall counter strike from your computer or you may get reinfected again soon. Empty your recycle bin. Open notepad. Copy and paste the text inside the Code Box below into Notepad Choose File > Save As and under "Save as type", choose "All Files". Type clean.bat in the File name and save it to your desktop. Code:
@echo off sc delete zenx1 sc delete xp1 sc delete unrealordBypass sc delete serb1 sc delete sejt1 sc delete PCHWDRVDEVICE0 sc delete IlvMoneyDRIVER53 sc delete GR sc delete Dual2 sc delete DISK_DRIVE32 sc delete Dua1 sc delete DBKDRVR54 if exist "%temp%\log.txt" del "%temp%\log.txt" for %%g in ( "C:\Documents and Settings\amyho.RYAN\Desktop\sspsetup4259_.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\ryanho.RYAN\My Documents\LimeWire\Saved\broken heart donnie j.mp3" "C:\Documents and Settings\ryanho.RYAN\My Documents\LimeWire\Saved\rolling stones donnie klang.mp3" "C:\Documents and Settings\ryanho.RYAN\My Documents\LimeWire\Saved\shake it big bang.mp3" "C:\Documents and Settings\ryanho.RYAN\My Documents\LimeWire\Saved\storm of trance lost angels.mp3" "C:\Documents and Settings\ryanho.RYAN\Shared\counter strike bittorrent downloader.zip" "C:\Documents and Settings\ryanho.RYAN\Shared\counter strike.zip" "C:\WINDOWS\system2420172.exe" ) do ( del /a/f/q %%g if exist %%g echo.%%g >>"%temp%\log.txt" )>nul 2>&1 if exist "%temp%\log.txt" (start notepad "%temp%\log.txt" ) else echo.Deleted Successfully! echo. pause del %0 On your next reply, please include a

Re: computer running slow, problem with Rundll32.exe
Everything looks fine now, avg scanned and fixed the files, all the files were deleted successfully in clean.bat. Computer has been running fine, before there had been popups and some registry errors, but everything is working good now, thanks. And I will not try to download a full version of Counter Strike again, that was a stupid mistake -_-. I eventually just bought the real counter strike.

Re: computer running slow, problem with Rundll32.exe
Congratulations! Your log looks clean!
Click start > run > copy and paste: combofix /u That will hide your system files, clear your system restore cache and uninstall combofix. Here are some free programs I recommend that could help you improve your pc's security. Firewall Application - Although Windows Xp comes with a firewall, you should not rely on it because the Windows Firewall can only filter incoming data; outgoing traffic is not controlled, meaning that malware/viruses that are present in your computer can access the internet with no restrictions. There are several other Firewall that can protect you better by filtering incoming and outgoing data. Make sure you get only one of these. » Comodo » Kerio MVPS Hosts File ~You can download it from here ~I highly recommend this hosts file. You can learn more about this here Note: Make sure you update your Antivirus programs and other security products regularly to avoid new threats that could infect your system. Please check out Tony Klein's article "How did I get infected in the first place?" And miekiemoes' "How to Prevent Malware" Happy safe surfing! Note: Please reply to this thread one last time so I could mark it as resolved.
